I'd love to see any photos you have of the Festivale, Carnivale, Tropicale, Mardi Gras, Holiday, Jubilee, and Celebration. I never sailed on these ships but have heard they were very nice for their day. I've noticed that many of you sailed on these ships back then, and would love to see what they looked like!

Love the ships from the early years of Carnival. On those ships you knew you were on ship and not a floating hotel. It was a completely different experience than what you have today. I loved the way it was.

Loved to see the pics of the Mardi Gras. We sailed on her twice in 1992 and 93 as our first 2 cruises. The restored wood everywhere around the ship was beautiful and we loved the ship. It made me go back and look at my pictures again and hunt out the video. Our cabin did not look like the ones they pictured. Ours were inside cabins and very small but we thought all cabins were that small with the shower over the commode!! We also sailed on the Holiday and still remember it as one of our favorites.

Wish I had more, but I didn't get many ship pictures and only a few interior pictures on that cruise since I only had the film camera then. I also have a few copies of the "Carnival Capers" (now called "Fun Times") from that cruise as well.

This thread brings back great memories for me - feels like yesterday that I worked on the Carnivale, Mardi Gras, and the Festivale in the early 1980's as a gift shop girl and then a gift shop manager. I loved every minute of it (well almost every minute).

One more of the hotel that Carnival owned in Nassau. I don’t remember much about it besides a calm beach and being stung by a jelly fish on our excursion [emoji12].

I just made the connection here - Crystal Palace is also the name of the Ecstasy's casino. I wonder how long Carnival owned the resort in Nassau? I bet it was heavily promoted onboard.

Oh..such memories....I hope someone finds pics of the Tropicale.... I was a crew member when she was brand new, Carnivals first new build. She was considered huge back in the day, 1982-1984 I was a casino dealer. Time of my life... a lot of my friends left the ships to go to the land casino in Paradise Island.
