Dear Mr. Radio,

You are completely responsibly for causing a CC addiction! I am now logging in 3 times a day (ok I admit is it more than that) just to see your updates! Given that I am leaving on a cruise in a few weeks myself, I now find that I am completely unproductive.

Thank you again!

BTW: What is your room category?

Hello everyone . . .

Today we left the ship at about 9:00 AM, and walked around the port area a little to see what was going on.

I was trying to see if I could get a rental car, because I heard there were some around the port area.

We ended up getting a rent a car from Cowpet Car Rental. I read some good reviews about Cowpet on Cruise Critic.

It turns out that no one had rental cars except for them. They were very friendly, and the reviews I read were right on ! We hopped in the car and it begins to rain, and rain. . . This was not good, so we drove over to the Havensight Mall area (where Oasis will be docked later this year), and do some shopping.

We were able to buy a few gifts, and I was able to purchase a watch for Mrs. Radio. The shops at Havensight were packed due to Carnival Liberty and the Norwegian Pearl being in port today.

We always go to Paradise Point while in St. Thomas so we decided to take the short drive up the hill. I was surprise to find that cruise passengers are not allowed to Paradise Point unless they ride the tram up and back. ($21PP). We then drove around St. Thomas enjoying the scenery on our way to Mountain Top. We found out that Mountain Top was burned down last year and is now closed. Hopefully it will be reopen soon.

We then drove over to Best Western Emerald Resort (Near Crown Bay), and there were several hundred Cruise Ship Passengers enjoying the beach.(at this time, the rain turned into a drizzle)

I wanted to check out Lindbergh Bay Beach ,(next door), and it was a calm beach with no vendors.

We got back to the ship, and the New Security procedure works out well. They had 10 X-Ray machine processing all passengers as they came back to the ship.

We made back with no worries, and we sat out on the Balcony, and the sun was blazing ! Oooops ! I could have stayed out a little longer. No worries though, tomorrow we will be in St Maarten from 730AM - 4PM.

Here are a few pics from today. . . I will try to get some more posted later tonight.

Thanks for tuning in.

Great "live" thread!! Thanks, Radio!! Have loved all the pics (we'll be on Oasis May 8) of Oasis & even the Hyatt, where we'll also be staying for one night before the cruise. Loved seeing the pics of Sea Dream II.....she was the first ship DH & I cruised on about 25 yrs ago when she was Sea Goddess! Seeing the pics comparing the sizes of Oasis & SD II are, at least to me..... PRICELESS!!!!!!!

Radio's photos and reports are indeed priceless to me and DJ's DH as well since we first sailed on a RCCL ship (Song of Norway) and now sail on SeaDream 1 and SeaDream 2:p

Hey Radio... thanks again for the great photos. If you have time, can you please tell me whether the outdoor smoking is on the Port or the Starboard on Oasis? All documentation says Starboard, but Trainman's Live Feed from January specifically said that it was on the Port side on the Oasis. (When I called RCCI they said that it is the Starboard.)

In St Thomas, what do you recommend we do, I would love to get a picture or the ship from up where you had that view...you said something about a tram...could you explain that a little more, where do you get on it, is there a weight limit and so forth?

The Portside of Deck 15(Pool Deck) is for smoking. There is an area up on Deck 16 (Suites Outdoor Bar) that is for smokers too (in one area),

Smokers also have the Port side of the Casino. The Starboard side is reserved for non smokers.

Radio, I see you also met the two iguanas. They were a fun bunch when we were listening to that steel drum band.

Ha ha, yes. . . I counted 12 of them at the area where I was. There were 100's of lizards (very small) as well.

Thanks so much Radio! Even if I could never cruise again, I could relive them through your pics! You and TrainMan are both so very special. Enjoy your cruise. Oh, also can't wait for your Enchantment cruise coming up, we're doing the same one in Oct '10 so will be waiting for your review/pics!
