kenscruisin Posted February 15, 2011 #152 Share Posted February 15, 2011 MY guess is that the new ship will be powered by natural gas. There is a reason why rccl has changed ship builders this time around.
sandytoes03 Posted February 15, 2011 #153 Share Posted February 15, 2011 How about an underwater restaurant or bar. It could be below the waterline with views underwater. Or it could be below the pool with windows into the pool, or perhaps a skylight that was the floor of the pool. It would definitely be different. That would actually be really cool! RBCL Posted February 15, 2011 #154 Share Posted February 15, 2011 Lounge with skylight to pool = awesome! :)
bellybutton530 Posted February 15, 2011 #155 Share Posted February 15, 2011 1. Single occupancy cabins that are priced accordingly 2. Family cabins that include 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms 3. Bigger suites, with balconies to match 4. Butler service for suite occupants 5. More plugs in the cabins 6. More storage space in the cabins 7. Self-service laundromats, with ironing rooms 8. Better internet capabilities 9. More cabins with bathtubs
Leslie K Posted February 15, 2011 #156 Share Posted February 15, 2011 *a dedicated lap pool for lap swimmers only *cabins for 1 person for solo cruisers - and priced for one person without surcharge. Some should be balcony, some inside, some ocean views.
we like it hot Posted February 15, 2011 #157 Share Posted February 15, 2011 My first thought was bigger balconies so that 2 lounge chairs are standard. This would help with overcrowding at the pool. Also asecond table to eat at. Night lights in the bathrooms with the light switch on the inside, not the outside. More outlets, definately one in the bathroom. Covered solarium with more loungers. Bigger dance floors, seems like RCI has gotton away from that. A beer pub with multiple types for sampling and drinking. Laundry room More gangways to tender people
mrobstad Posted February 15, 2011 #158 Share Posted February 15, 2011 ...as stated above. 2) crepe stations 3) indoor pools with more loungers, as stated above.
LaShelle2 Posted February 15, 2011 #159 Share Posted February 15, 2011 Would love to see studio cabins like Norwegian Epic for single cruisers like me. I would cruise more often if there was not a single supplement. even if I were sailing with a friend, I would like the privacy of having my own space. JaxieWaxie Posted February 15, 2011 #162 Share Posted February 15, 2011 I would love a jogging track that goes the full circumference of the deck, not just halfway. With the current configuration, the "excuse me, pardon me, coming throughs" come far too frequently when lapping the slowpokes just out for a leisurely stroll. It also leads to annoying bottlenecks. JaxieWaxie Posted February 15, 2011 #163 Share Posted February 15, 2011 If this has been mentioned already, my apologies! I'd love it if the Sunshine ships have some cabins for solo cruisers! I say we can't mention it enough. :) Count me in for more solo-cruiser cabins -- and not hidden below on Deck Two!!
ucfknight07 Posted February 15, 2011 #164 Share Posted February 15, 2011 The theme of the sun and moon seem to be suggested quite a bit. I think we've heard "Sunshine" and "Moonlight"... I was thinking we modify these two a little and propose "Sunlight of the Seas" and "Moonshine of the Seas"!!! :D

ILUVCRUIZN Posted February 15, 2011 #166 Share Posted February 15, 2011 I love how princess does Movies Under the Stars, comfy cushions on loungers, blankets and popcorn. Well that is how they did it on our last cruise with them 6 years ago. I also love the idea of a ledge in the shower for shaving my legs. Ice machines where guests can get their own ice when wanted and not have wait for your room steward to deliver it to you. :D
ILUVCRUIZN Posted February 15, 2011 #167 Share Posted February 15, 2011 Would also like to see a few more port intensive cruises offered. Has nothing to do with the building of the new ship but still would be nice...
Canusa02 Posted February 15, 2011 #168 Share Posted February 15, 2011 More focus on the main dining room, and less specialty restaurants. Get rid of the service charge on drinks. Let the servers generate tips with good service.
Shomari Posted February 15, 2011 #169 Share Posted February 15, 2011 Um... Not sure if this would interest enyone else... And would probably have to be on a smaller ship... But I would (as a Newbie) like to see specialty cruises... Like how they had the Gay cruise... Like an an all 20's and 30's cruise... An all 40-somethings cruise... A family with kids under 6 cruise... Maybe these already exist? PS... A lazy river would be AWESOME!

Yvonne Posted February 15, 2011 #171 Share Posted February 15, 2011 A fully enclosed library with more than 2-3 chairs/couches. It's difficult, if not impossible, to find a true quiet place to read. I love reading on a cruise, but everywhere you try to go is either playing some sort of music, or the TV's are on, or people next to you are laughing and talking loudly. :( The only truly quiet place I could find to read on my recent Monarch cruise was our stateroom. :( Adult areas, no one under 21, where the rule is enforced. A separate restaurant for My Time Dining. On the Monarch they just have some tables in one of the main dining rooms designated for MTD. We tried to go at 6 p.m. and was told all tables were full, they would have no tables until after 8:30. Very disappointing.
Guest Posted February 15, 2011 #172 Share Posted February 15, 2011 Lots of excellent ideas so far. I would love please: Outdoor dining, glass everywhere with ocean views, 4 FlowRiders, a non-smoking casino, free steam room, a watersports platform, shotgun shooting off the back of the ship, and a backgammon competition. Many thanks.:D
griffy116 Posted February 15, 2011 #173 Share Posted February 15, 2011 I know this may sound strange with all the ideas, .......but...Has anyone mentioned popcorn? I have never seen popcorn on a cruise ship. Is there a reason? There is every possibility of things to eat, but no popcorn. What have they got against popcorn? It goes great with beer. Count me as "who cares" about self-service laundry. I am so glad that I'm not at a condominium where I can wash and cook meals and clean up after meals. Please, please put an adult only pool so people won't complain about having to see children. I don't have children but it's just not something that bothers me, but I seem to be in the minority. Drink card or package like the soda card. I don't even care if it has a "per day max" on it...just give us a drink package for those of us that would like a bucket of frozen drinks..literally fill a bucket and give me a handful of straws. They could come up with something!!! Love the idea of the water slide. Faster internet, free internet, faster elevators. A handicapped elevator. You see too many people who are in wheelchairs and walkers that can't use the stairs waiting for elevator after elevator only to find they can't use it. We always get off and give our spot up, but we're also in the minority. A less slippery floor in the restrooms by the pools. Those floors get "oiled" down by everyone and you see multiple falls every day. A chemical in the pool water so that when people pee in the pool, it will get blue around them. This would be more fun to watch than the Hairy Legs contest!!!
reney313 Posted February 16, 2011 #174 Share Posted February 16, 2011 Not specific to this ship, or maybe so.....Early Seating all Casual, Late Seating-Normal dress (i.e. Formal, Semi-Formal, etc) but in the same dining room with the same menu and wait staff, just one seating all casual. People can choose which they prefer and more people would respect.
