spencercoop Posted June 14, 2011 #2 Share Posted June 14, 2011 Maybe all cabins non-smoking too? Overall I really don't care much for the smoking news. What I am really looking forward to is the NYC news tomorrow!

This is the best news ever!!!! I just retrned from the Glory where I spent a number of nights in the piano bar sucking in the smoke. My voice is gone.....it irritates my throat so bad that I lose my voice.......

SkyMaster Posted June 15, 2011 #6 Share Posted June 15, 2011 I agree! Wonderful news! I love the piano bar, but HATE the smoke. Now I can stay in there for more than 15 minutes at a time! HOORAY! "SKY"

I have "predicted" this many times:rolleyes:....and have been told to "cruise another line"....and that "Carnival loves smokers">>> ??? Fact is not many lines are "catering" to smokers and rightfully so... even the European ships and countries are changing due to the fact that the number of smokers...and tolerance of them..keeps on declining YIPPPEEEEEEEE:p
Irishlinny Posted June 15, 2011 #8 Share Posted June 15, 2011 And I intend to monitor the piano bars to make sure that all the people who have been whining about this are actually IN the smoke-free piano bars:rolleyes: We were recently on the Miracle where the piano bar is already non-smoking. There was a group of 10 of us (mostly smokers) who stayed for a while and then left to go somewhere we could smoke. When we left, there were about 4 or 5 people in there, and that's pretty much the way it stayed for the entire cruise. I was amazed not to see all the people in there who have been screaming for it to be smoke-free:rolleyes:

Sargent_Schultz Posted June 15, 2011 #10 Share Posted June 15, 2011 The nonsmoking piano bar on Carnival Magic was packed and was really nonsmoking. And the servers were still running around serving drinks. As far as what the news really is, I'll wait for the official version.

idlenote Posted June 15, 2011 #14 Share Posted June 15, 2011 Milburn on the Conquest keeps the smokers well away from the piano. By about 9:30 the place is pretty well packed. Have to say however that I'm not sure if the comedy club hasn't made a difference to how many people hit the piano bar. Must add that the Ecstasy earlier this year was unbearable. Fifteen minutes and that was it for three cruises.
JPH814 Posted June 15, 2011 #15 Share Posted June 15, 2011 I hope this is true. I spent a lot of hours in piano bars on other lines and loved it. But in April on the Dream we had trouble walking by the place due to all of the smoke pouring out. I'll be on the Glory in 6 weeksand hope to report that we can enjoy the piano bar again. AQW Posted June 15, 2011 #17 Share Posted June 15, 2011 Outstanding!!! The piano bar is my favorite thing to do on a ship, but I can never last more than a few songs because the smoke is so horrific. A very welcome change!
mommiemudd Posted June 15, 2011 #18 Share Posted June 15, 2011 Woohoo! didn't realize when we booked Carnival that smoking was an issue. Glad that this rule changed before our cruise in October.
marshhawk Posted June 15, 2011 #19 Share Posted June 15, 2011 From a smoker-I never could understand why they allowed it in the piano bar anyway, but it was nice on the Fantasy class, to walk in after dinner and have a smoke(the bar was closed that early) now I will have to go somewhere else:rolleyes:

The Splendor was totally non-smoking and then they did the same thing. A small lounge with poor ventilation and smokers - doesn't make much matter where they are. Really? That surprises me. I thought Europeans were smokers??? I am hoping that with these smoking changes, Carnival reinforces that Electronic Cigarettes can still be smoked everywhere.... that would be a great compromise. popsec Posted June 15, 2011 #25 Share Posted June 15, 2011 I am hoping that with these smoking changes, Carnival reinforces that Electronic Cigarettes can still be smoked everywhere.... that would be a great compromise. When I questioned John Heald about that very question I was told the e-cigs could be used everywhere except the dining rooms. We had no problems using ours at a non-smoking table in the casino a few weeks ago. Hopefully they'll continue allowing them in non-smoking areas
