Where is Enchantment?

Well that supports the earlier theory that she snuck out beyond the 12nm limit to reopen the casino to sheer the flock a little while longer, while loitering in the area to make her normal transit up to Baltimore overnight.

Actuaaly the casino open up after she passes the Key Bridge in Baltimore

Update. Captain had cancelled port stop. Offering full refunds to whoever wants to get off. If you stay on, it's 6 days at sea with on board credit but no stops of course. They said they would try and find the calmest waters. The line to get refunds is about 500 people long at least. It is a mess.

For anyone interested, local newspaper said that the Enchantment stopped in Norfolk for a medical emergency.

I returned this morning from that cruise, and the paper is correct. The Enchantment did indeed stop in Norfolk for a few hours to offload a passenger who had been taken ill. It seemed like we were sailing much faster to Norfolk, and then much slower to Baltimore. Prayers ascending for the passenger's recovery.

My friend is getting off Enchantment as I type this.

I'm due to board the next cruise on 11-1. I was wondering what they were going to do with this cruise. Not very many good choices available. Will be watching closely and interested to hear how things go. Wonder how many will leave and how many will stay aboard. Best wishes to all of them in working things out.;)

jow6666...we have a rollcall thread going for this cruise. Come on over and check in.

I took the refund and am sitting in the parking lot now waiting for my ride. Quite a lot of people left. Those remaining will hav e the ship to themselves. If they are lucky enough to find some sun should be plenty of lounge chairs.

Per the RCI website, Enchantment will NOT be going to King's Wharf but will go out and try to find calmer seas. There are postings for all the ships leaving the east coast this weekend due to Sandy.

We got off the ship as well. It was tempting with the OBC, 400 for suite guests, but end of the day, with no ports and just hoping for calmer seas, it was not worth it. Such a bummer. We booked the trip 9 months ago and we chose the one wrong weekend. The worst part was actually getting into the room then having to having to make the choice. This stinks.

FWIW, Delta, my inside source says that weather will be ok for you to sail on 11/1. Now, that does NOT take into account whatever shape the port of Baltimore may be in by then.

Awe man, that DOES stink! Praying for safe travels for crew & cruisers of ALL the ships in this things path! I know it's not as safe for them to stay in port, but it seems so risky to go out to sea. What if there were engine problems and they couldn't travel as fast to "outrun" it.

Thinking out loud here, as we will be on the Enchantment in 3 weeks. Although, I'm hoping that they find SUCH calm seas that passengers barely know a storm's happening.

I'm surprised there aren't YouTube videos posted yet of glimpses of the storm from cruise ships in the Bahamas yesterday. Intrigues me JUST how well they navigate through and around storms like this!

Is she really still in Baltimore? I'm imagining the port flooding and not being right when we sail in 3 weeks! What was I thinking booking a cruise during hurricane season?

I would have taken the OBC and taken the cruise to nowhere! Still beats a day at work!

ME TOO!!! EXACTLY what I was thinking!...or something being wring with the ship, or Coco Cay being demolished. A million possibilities in my head.

I know all of this is SO unimportant in the face of lives lost in the Caribbean this week, so I apologize for sounding so superficial. I was just thinking tonight that it's so odd that we'll be there in a few weeks and most likely will have experienced the exact same storm (here in PA) as they did in Nassau, etc. I felt bad thinking of lives lost, then tourist roll in like nothing ever happened.

They'll need the tourism more than ever though, soooooo......

Praying and hoping this thing loses some umph SOON!
