jeans in february in the bahamas

is it going to be to hot to wear jeans into port in nassau, freeport etc. temps are supposed to be low 80's during the daytime feb. 28 just wondering if i will be miserable wearing jeans and should find a lighter fabric pant any suggestions

See if you can find the lighter material denim. I personally wouldn't wear regular denim in the Bahamas. If it was low 80s you won't be comfortable unless you are used to wearing it in warmer weather.

If you would normally wear jeans on a humid, 80 degree day in the summer then bring your jeans. Otherwise, bring lighter weight pants, capris or skirts.

I would be too warm wearing even lighter weight jeans in the Bahamas in Februrary. I don't recommend it.

Think cargo shorts or man-pris (not everyone can pull them off - my DH certainly can't).

A kilt would be cute, but the wool might be a bit warm :) Dockers or shorts would probably be a better choice ...

I have had family who lived in the Bahamas many years. I can say that it can be chilly there even in late February. The first time I went to Coco Cay on a cruise, I was chilly and it was late March. I needed a sweater.

 

It can be warm and muggy in the Bahamas in late February, but heat is not guaranteed.

Do you not have any shorts? Most people wear shorts on their cruise vacation to warm climates. :)

I agree with most of the posters. Jeans would be fine for the ship's strong ac but on the islands it will probably be too humid for comfort. Wear shorts or very light weight slacks.

I wouldn't but I wouldn't wear them at home in the summer if I were going to be outside all day either. Most guys are wearing shorts, while women wear skirts/sundresses/shorts.

80 is pretty warm....I'd be wearing shorts! I've never taken jeans on a warm-weather vacation...just too uncomfortable in summer weather, for me.

If you have to wear pants due to religion, medical, or other reasons, I'd suggest a lighter fabric than denim. Perhaps khaki, but I think that linen (though it wrinkles terribly) would be ideal.

Imagine wearing jeans in your home town in the US...where I live, even in the midwest, jeans are warm to wear in the summers, where it can reach in the mid 90's with moderate humidity..

 

I would say, if you want to wear jeans to look for light weight denim to wear. The Bahamas are warm, and the humidity is there but there is usually a nice breeze.

I would bring jeans and light weight capris and wait to see what the weather is when you get to Nassau. I went in February and it was very cool. We all wore jeans and zip up hoodies and we were still cold with the breeze kicking up so you never know.

Used to live MiaBeach, same weather, wore jeans maybe twice a year. They take up too much room and weight in suitcase too.You can pack 3 pairs slacks, shorts, in same suitcase space.

I was just there last week and it was too warm for jeans. I wore my lightweight Columbia capris and sundresses. YMMV :D

I think it would be too warm but I have often seen DH in jeans on 100 degree days. :rolleyes: It's a choice.

Do you own shorts? I think you would be more comfortable.
