Rhapsody 2015 Relocation

Recommended Posts

.....a little more snooping and look what i found on offer at one of the online TA sites now you know i can't mention whom so don't ask.....

Mon ............this is a very doable itinerary guessing cruise to Singapore is via Airlie, Cairns, Darwin and Bali....just emailed off for further details about booking:D cheers Shiona

CONGRATS what a snoop - great find (and found an agent selling it).

Great cruise but it does not go to Aqaba or Safaga (for Petra or Valley of the Kings, but very few ships are going to Egypt). We would like to go to Jerusalem however. Only interested in the Dubai to Turkey (or further) and the price is OK too.

Decisions, decisions.

We were in Egypt and Jordan in May this year would love to go back to Petra again it was sensational but can wait.... love the Singapore to Istanbul sectors which we will book with possibility of Istanbul to where ever when ever they get round to declaring the itinerary..... pricing is great for what we get and as she isn't a large ship and she's arriving in Europe right on summertime we aren't going to hang about with our bookings... just trying to get the future cruise booking we bought on the Mariner okayed for deposit....grrrrrr US ship in international waters defaulted it to AUD...... dumb dumb dumb:mad:

The Sydney - Singapore section was on my I phone Royal Caribbean app set to USA last night at 1800 Brisbane time. Not there now.

Maybe they are getting ready for the great unveiling:rolleyes::rolleyes: as TimTam2 posted yesterday it's available for purchase on the Singapore RCCL site including the Syd to Singapore.... this is an absolute disgrace Royal Caribbean shame on you :mad:

What about Cairns - Rhapsody is one of the only ships to be able to get in without tendering. Same with the islands, smaller ship means less tendering, and more ports. So we will still need a smaller ship rather than go Voyager class or bigger. If they do replace Rhapsody, hopefully it will be with a similar size ship.

I have one also because I bought my cruise from Australia. Can one change it for use in the US? I find it is just as cheap to buy from RCCL Aust except for the deposit which is usually much dearer from Australia but then I will only be charged $100 for each (right?)

I feel like waiting just a little longer before I book but both hubby and I like it.

OK, all of our detective work :D reveals that Rhapsody is going to Europe at the end of the Australasian season 2014/15 for the northern summer of 2015 and not being deployed in Alaska as 'usual'.

So any information yet on whether she will return to Aus/NZ after the European sojourn? If not we will surely miss her downunder & clearly there will be no relocation Syd-Hawaii, or vice versa after Aug '15, unless Europe 2015 is a one-off.

As I understood it, the original 'plan' from RC was to add Mariner to the existing 3 ships from 2015/16, not instead of an existing one??

The three cruises are up on the Aussie RCCL site now. Very tempting especially the Singapore to Dubai and Dubai to Istanbul sectors. Cruising through the Suez Canal is on my bucket list.

Elaine.

It is cheaper on a US website - don't want to pay $150 per person extra but my FCC is in AUD. Suez Canal is also on my bucket list.

Rhapsody is listed in Civitavecchia (Rome) July to the end of October 2015 as a frequent visitor. Weekly July August. Approximately every 10 days remainder.

What Rhapsody does in June 2015 is a mystery. Anzac Cruises from Istanbul my current guess.

As for what replaces Rhapsody that is a good question. Freedom Class is my current guess. Royal have a big announcement in London Friday morning Australia time. This will not tell us what ship will replace Rhapsody but may narrow the guessing game.

Perhaps the big announcement in London, a well guarded secret:rolleyes: of course, is the rumour about the Independence of the Seas calling London her home base...:D

We bit the bullet this morning rang RCL here in Australia  to book, pricing not too different from US, here's how it goes.........................

I rang them first thing this morning to book Singapore - Dubai - Istanbul and got through straightaway only problem was the lovely lady knew nothing about the repo and it wasn't showing on her system  (tried to book online but only limited cabin classes open not the one we wanted) so I said don't worry I will ring back later........before i rang I did a hold booking on the first class i saw a price on just so I had a res number for them to search on :D, have to ask who is doing all the work here:rolleyes:, so i call back this afternoon to find myself on hold for 43 minutes...... oh joy....finally after 30 more minutes happy to announce we have confirmed bookings in the cabin we want.....phew what a palaver.......booking used to be sooooooooooo easy

and for some reason our "next cruise" certificate has done both cruises so no added deposit was asked for cheers Shiona

Maybe you could save your Aus. FCC for another local cruise.

Yes, maybe.

There is also MSC to consider (once they bring out their itineraries) and you don't seem to mind MSC Marion. I would just prefer RCCL.

But it is way too early for me to book. I will just watch the bookings.

Anthem of the Seas home based Southampton for 6 or 12 months a year.

I like the trend.

Good idea to move the ships around so cruisers don't get tired of them.

Maybe next announcement - "X of the Seas" will be home based in "Brisbane" for 6 or 12 months a year.

I would not rule it out!

7 day South Pacific Cruises must certainly be on Royals agenda.

It makes good business sense, especially now with the popularity of P & O's Brisbane cruises to PNG, in addition to South Pacific and Queensland coastal.

Have to wait till the Gold Coast cruise port is built for that to happen:D I would love to see the Navigator of the Seas down this way...soon;);)..... just read her upgrades supposedly set down for Jan next year... Wave Lock Flowrider surf simulator will be a big big drawcard for the market down here.... ;):D

Happy to see Navigator of the Seas based in Melbourne.

Would like to see a medium sized ship, based in Brisbane, which can visit the more exotic smaller ports of call.

I'm one who hopes the Gold Coast cruise port doesn't happen. Developers only want access to free Crown land to build casinos, accommodation and the like.
