assuming that the UK wanted to give away one extra 7 day's cruise's tier points as a bonus, that would imply 25 tier points per current "old" point. That would equate to a conversion of 30 times your number of "old" points.....or 25 "old" points to be elite+ or 100 "old" points to be zenith level.

Not to mention inline with Royal. But there's that huge gap again.

I have been away from boards for a year, and just booked another cruise, so please excuse my ignorance of all previous discussions and how these points may work for current Elites. How do existing credits get converted to points? Or is this program only new going forward? Speculation is old credits will be converted to new points at some yet to be announced conversion rate, as of start of this new system.

I agree which means it's probably not right :)

Just to keep the speculation going, why would Celebrity use a "25 to one" conversion rate, when RC used a "7 to one" conversion rate? Wouldn't it make sense to have Celebrity and RC in alignment?

Surely you jest....they don't want common branding of any sort between RCL and Celebrity...and neither wants a combined captain's club type program because they want to have some control of "their" passengers.

My guess is that even the acknowledgement of each others frequent cruiser program came from the holding company, not the individual brands.

Wasn't there a time when X and RC used the same formula to assign loyalty points? I thought that before RC moved to the "per day" formula, both cruise lines were using the same formula.

No need to apologize. You are no more or less ignorant than all the speculators. At this point, NO ONE knows how points are earned, because it has not been announced by Celebrity yet.

As Andy would say, "Stay tuned!"

I had switched from RCI after making Diamond - these new levels look like I will have to go back

Don't you think that's jumping the gun? No one knows exactly what the new levels are! This thread is nothing but speculation at this point. ;)

Hmmm, with this change we MAY benefit from this new system.

4 cruises 51 nights 6 points. We cruise veranda and below.

In the current system we could have the same number of points sailing only 24 nights, 6, 4 night cruises veranda and below.

I hope the new system equals out these kind of discrepancies for us that can only afford one long cruise a year because of the travel time and cost getting to a cruiseport.

Love all this speculation:)

Cheers, h.

Any new system is going to have a higher % of revenue based point earning options. It only makes sense. They will give more points for onboard spending, taking Celebrity Shore excursions, gambling in the casino etc.....AS well as cabin booked and length of cruise. It only makes sense that someone who books a penthouse equivalent in size to 6 standard cabins gets 6X the points that others get.

Basically I expect that it will be a spend more get more type program!

I am ready to spend and cruise!

Safe travels to all!

If X uses loyalty credits similar to what ones gets currently on RC with their Crown & Anchor program you would get one point for each night onboard and double the credits for being in a suite thus a 5 day short cruise in an aqua suite would get 10 points and 14 days in an Aqua cabin would get 28 points.

The current Capt's Club program give a extra cruise credit for being in an Concierge Class cabin or higher and gives an extra cruise credit for being on a 12 night or longer cruise so the 5 day short cruise in an Aqua suite gets 2 cruise credits and the 12 night gets 3 cruise credits.

Also no one lost their C&A status when RCI did their conversion and a few actually gained a higher status with the introduction of the Emerald level.

I like your signature with the itinerary map. What website or program did you use?

If the assumptions mentioned above are correct, let me see if I have this correct.

Under the current system, I have 4 points and will earn Select status after my cruise in January.

Under the assumed new system - I have 16 nights all at Concierge Class - therefore that would equal 32 points? My cruise in January is 7 nights in Aqua Class - so after that cruise I will have 46 points?

Is that correct? Will I still have Select status after January's cruise with the new system (assuming, of course, that the assumptions above are correct).

Thanks,

Debbi

I heard elite will now be 25 points beginning Jan. 2014
