Everything.. ESCAPE (live 29 Oct 2015!)

Recommended Posts

Thanks. It does seem nicer having the sitting area by the balcony. This is what I had on QUANTUM and I felt it did make the cabin feel large. I've never had a balcony on the Breakaway Class but the cabins look pretty similar to QUANTUM although perhaps a little smaller.

I guess there is no way to tell by looking at the deck plan? On some cruise lines you can sort of tell by the deck plan and the shape of the cabin. I think the NCL deck plan for ESCAPE just shows a rectangle.

You can tell for Getaway and Breakaway based on which part of the room is wider on the deck plans. This hasn't been updated yet on the Escape deck plans, so it might be anyone's guess right now.

Ooh Cuban sandwiches yum yum! Last time I had one was in Miami - ooh and corn dogs! Omg I'd never had a corn dog until 2010! I think I might need another one now!

American style restaurants are very in at the moment in my home town of Nottingham - think no less than 5 have opened this year!

Anyway getting back to the ship! Love the chandelier in the silver - looks awesome! And is the Haven roof retractable? I'm actually beginning to think I should swap my booking to the Escape on my Miami adventure next year!

What do they serve in a American Restaurant?

Thanks. I don't think I noticed that before on the Breakaway Class deck plans. If I went by the exact same cabin on GETAWAY, I'll have the sitting area by the balcony door. I realize it may not translate to ESCAPE but I guess I'll find out soon enough.

Foodporn lovers arise! Some dishes from Bayamo;

"#ceviche #quinoa #arrozconpato #bayamorestaurant"

All pics must be seafood right to be Bayamo's? Even the top right one (tuna?) and the larger one on the green rice, which is the arroz con pato (but chicken?, love Google Images)? :D

Bayamo isn't a seafood restaurant like Ocean Blue. The menu showed a variety that did include seafood choices. Great photo find!! Thanks

My pleasure. https://instagram.com/explore/tags/bayamorestaurant/

I thought I read once (long long time ago) that it was all seafood with a Latin twist. Might give it a try! :)

But I am anxious for those Pincho's tapas! :D

Food Republic tablet (no menu):

(using links instead of pics as it might be slightly irrelevant)

My most awaited menu *sigh*

Back to that Bayamo... It certainly is seafood heavy, isn't it? I guess that's needed/missing elsewhere on the ship, so it makes sense.

Nice, thanks!

I've found a short clip, nothing exciting or really new if you already saw Ingrid Fiebek's aerials, of ES on her sea trial.

I feel NCL can do much more and step up her build documentary game. My guess is all the Andy Stuart clips were filmed on the day of the steel cutting of Bliss. Of course he can't stick around for hours and hours of filming as an high executive.

Celebrity has or had an awesome documentary series about the build of Reflection, showing continuous episodes on one of the ship in room tv channel's on her ships.

Carnival does a great game too about the

build in Italy.

It's probably just a marketing budget funds decision and NCL spends it on something different and/or the ship is already getting enough publicity. In making fans of a brand and to excite your customers, even those already on one of your ships with a future cruise consultant nearby, those documentaires of Celebrity are a best in class.

I think OP probably means food like ribs, burgers, fries, pizza, fried chicken etc or perhaps meats served in an American way a la TGI Fridays.

The one I am thinking of in particular is called the Rub Smokehouse in Nottingham. - they do indeed serve ribs, corn dogs, lots of different BBQ/SMOKED meats - this is their website - http://www.rubsmokehouse.com/

I haven't had the chance to go there as yet! :) But I will!

Thanks @Freestyle - you are indeed an internet sleuth!!!! :D

Hmmm that big fat prawn made me mouth water! I hope the Supper Club show food will be good - I have to say I went on Britannia's sort of loose equivalent - the Limelight Club and the food menu we had was outstanding! It was well worth it and Jackie Graham was fab too! :)

*grin* :D

I've found the pic below while researching every hotel suppliers social media channels. From carpet to lightbulb. This one was from the telephone brand.

Neh, just kidding, just ran across it:

Balcony(or oceanview, not sure?): coffeemaker, power outlets, connecting door.

edit: 3 US, 1 EU. Not two-two as thought before.

We had one open near us last year, American BBQ type very similar menu. They seem to be getting very popular in the UK.

I am pretty sure they are a little smaller than Quantum . She has the best storage we have ever seen in a standard balcony room. We loved that ship she is the most like a NCL ship.

I agree the storage was fantastic. Having closets on both sides of the bed was awesome and above too!

Without having to read all 4,000 posts does anyone know why Carlos Bake Shop is now being referred to as The Bake Shop? Does this mean it is no longer a Carlos shop? Was so looking forward to it.

Thanks

In the inaugural Escape app the partnership is still mentioned. Haven't heard anything about it.

We are booked in on the June 4th sailing of the Escape in an H8. 2 weeks ago, all categories of Haven suites were available, with numerous cabin choices in each category (except our 1 and only H8 of course). Now, all Haven suites are showing as sold out. I'm wondering what is going on? Is there a big NCL meeting blocking out the rooms, or an outside convention or group?

We really enjoy meeting people on the cruise and making friends and won't want to be the only "outsiders" in the Haven if everyone else is booked with a large group. It seems odd to me that they'd all be sold out with the 90+ suites in the Haven on the Escape this far in advance.
