transam84 Posted October 23, 2014 #26 Share Posted October 23, 2014 I don't get the X crossbars, it almost looks like some designer from Celebrity pulled a prank on their sister company. I thought the exact same thing! Glad I am not the only one. It looks like it should be a celebrity ship. I think the ship is gorgeous, don't get me wrong, but the x's are a little strange. HiCSailor Posted October 23, 2014 #28 Share Posted October 23, 2014 OK ... so for some reason I'm curious about the Royal Caribbean Edition TAG Huer. I wonder if it has been created as a competitor to the Apple Watch by the specialists behind Dynamic Dining: times disappear, shift for no reason, and usually tends to tell you to try checking the time later. :) Lmbo.... Glad I wasn't drinking when I read that. [emoji23] OK, time to try to schedule my dining and entertainment reservations once more... norcalemt02 Posted October 23, 2014 #29 Share Posted October 23, 2014 Please tell me you are:confused: Nope I am a tech savey guy and love to go into the Apple Store or Microsoft store when at the mall. How can you say you're a high tech 21 century gizmo and gadget ship without an electronic store. It's like saying we sell hot dogs but no ketchup or mustard. CRUISEFAN0001 Posted October 24, 2014 #34 Share Posted October 24, 2014 (edited) WOW indeed - my wallet is getting thinner and thinner just looking at all the photos and drawings. :D Attractive interior areas, but shoppers better save up ahead of time to visit those expensive venues. kwazi07 Posted October 24, 2014 #37 Share Posted October 24, 2014 Schooner bar is in the middle with no windows??????????????? That seems so weird...a nautically themed bar with no views of the ocean. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S 5 using Tapatalk

Why would you go on a cruise to buy a computer  Anyways, is the bar that serves drink without bartenders not high tech enough for you? Or how about balconies in an inside room? Rare silentbob007 Posted October 24, 2014 #39 Share Posted October 24, 2014 To be fair ... Celebrity has essentially an Apple Store on their Solstice ships. However ... the prices were essentially what you would pay on land (though I guess without the sales tax) and the product tended to sit there for a while (had to check if it was actually the current version). Wot No Tux Posted October 24, 2014 #40 Share Posted October 24, 2014 Despite extensive searching I can't find any Cell Phone outlets. Perhaps that comes with the next reveal along with an Apple store and an expensive Tesco's.
norcalemt02 Posted October 24, 2014 #41 Share Posted October 24, 2014 Ok let's look at it through a business aspect. If you're gonna spend millions on a high speed internet access point and say you have the fastest Internet at sea, you're gonna want guest to use them. Some people might want to upgrade there hardware on board. Use onboard credit to save some money. If they sell dslr cameras In a dedicated store "focus" on some ships. They can definitely have a electronics store onboard too. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Wot No Tux Posted October 24, 2014 #42 Share Posted October 24, 2014 I was joking about the Apple store, they wouldn't really have one would they? That means their certain to have a cell-phone store, as every high street is full of them. I'm reconsidering this TA Maiden, as it might be full of people tapping on phones & gazing into Tablets using costly but pretty poor methods of communication, sending data & messages nobody is really interested in. All we want is a relaxing trip, good grub good drink a quiet place to relax with sociable interesting fellow guests., yeah......
papcx Posted October 24, 2014 #43 Share Posted October 24, 2014 I was joking about the Apple store, they wouldn't really have one would they? More likely to be a Microsoft store as they announced tablets for the entire fleets crew at the "smart ship" launch.

All we want is a relaxing trip, good grub good drink a quiet place to relax with sociable interesting fellow guests., yeah...... The Celebrity Solstice class as well as many older ships have an Apple Store onboard. It's referred to as the iLounge and is a certified Apple Store selling apple hardware and software. They use it as the ships Internet Cafe as well as a lab for holding classes throughout the sailing on how to use various aspects of the Apple devices. More likely to be a Microsoft store as they announced tablets for the entire fleets crew at the "smart ship" launch. Yep, we won't be seeing an Apple Store anymore. When Celebrity implemented it Royal was partnered with Apple on everything new. Now they aren't. A Microsoft store would never be hip enough for Royal to put onboard so I doubt we'll get a technology store anytime soon.

DEIx15x8 Posted October 24, 2014 #46 Share Posted October 24, 2014 Maybe they will have virtual portholes? Probably not but it would actually be a good idea to promote the virtual balconies.... Now if they could use those boat loads of bandwidth to link the bar to the rest of the fleet that would be cool. They could have a virtual port hole offering views out to sea from each ship in the fleet along with the local time and location. That would be a great way to sell people on future cruises. Next will be virtual starboard holes. I wonder what happens if the "screen" accidentally brakes:eek: Will the cost go on your onboard account? LoneStarJeffe Posted October 25, 2014 #49 Share Posted October 25, 2014 I'm not liking that either. I think it would have been a smart idea to switch the locations of the Schooner Bar and the Bionic Bar. However, there seems to be a large entrance into the Schooner Bar which would appear to be right across from the large windows that have the "X" crossbars in them above the retail shops. If your not sure which windows I'm referring to, here is a link to some images posted a while ago: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showpost.php?p=44168412&postcount=3818 It is on the same deck as the lifeboats anyway isn't it? Most likely, the view would be a yellow lifeboat. Or am I missing something.
