Carnival ecstasy & Majesty of the seas are 4 days out of Miami. Gem is 6 days out of NY.

Perhaps the price reflects that no one knows why the Celebrations ship got a gaping hole in it pulling out of the Bahamas. I will be happy to be retired and live three hours by bus from the NYC port.

Trust Me , We love booking a cruise the day before it sails . :)

 

I was Sooo tempted to book Dawns 14 day repo cruise @ $399 pp that sailed today .

They must have already sold a bunch of those because the price I see now for the cheapest category (IX) is $199.

 

These cruises sound so good until you get all the way to the end.

 

2 people at $199=398 sound like a deal

 

Get to the end and add ports charges and tax=$781 It no longer sounds good to me. :rolleyes:

I don't know $65.92, per person/per day including taxes and port charges seems like a pretty good deal to me.

gem 6day bahama $191 :confused:

gem is even 1 less port

Because many of the taxes and fees are assessed on a per ship basis, not per passenger, and the Breakaway has many more passengers to spread those taxes/fees over.

Correct. But if you and your roommate are platinum you already get 2 free specialty restaurants for two anyway. If you're a CAS player you usually get one specialty restaurants for 2 as well. For me, that would already be 3 total. And truth be told.....sometimes I like to eat at the MDR or the 24 hour restaurant or the a la carte restaurant.
