Is the Dawn Runnung Late?

Been watching the port of Bermuda web Cam, and the Dawn is nowhere in sight yet.

When I checked the bridge cam, it shows her going through a rain storm. I hope that all is well.

How do you find a bridge webcam? I'd like to look for the Getaway bridge webcam.

Marine traffic and AIS tracking site have updated info yesterday, showing her ETA at Bermuda to be around 6 PM local/Atlantic time this evening (UTC time clock used) - she has been going near 21 knots (typically sailed slower at 17 to 18 knots) to make up for the lost time in returning to BOS for a medical stop (as the nearest port) due to fog. (Will have to check that high tide table closely & make sure it is escorted by pilot boat)

Just looked at her webcam - it surely looked like rain & probably some light chops. It's a bummer - but safety first - many things on the island closed down even earlier on Sunday, if they are open at all - and if I recall, the buses & ferries already on a reduced schedule will basically be in pre-shut down mode - shore excursion cancelled for the day. They can extend or delay their return to BOS by a day but will have to inform the Breakaway to anchor & tender their pax to shore, like what they did when the Dawn temporary lost steering/power & hit the coral reef.

Ship just came within range of AIS/marinetraffic radar tracking a short while ago, ETA showing 19:00 UTC - less than 2 hours - running about 7/8 speed at 19.4 knots - St. George/north shores of Bermuda islands should be coming in view soon, then it needs to slow down to carefully navigate the coral channel to get to Dockyard with the pilot boarding to assist. Seas looked to be 6' to 8' or less, was closer to 10' to 12' early with some chops, nothing to be worried about, for us.

Clip on Live Map #26 & zoom in to find her - http://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/home/oldshipid:374588/oldmmsi:311307000/olddate:2015-05-31%2019%3A00%3A35/zoom:9

Just about in time for a sunset (cloudy ?) but at least out of the bands of rain & shower earlier in the day. ;)

Will Dawn stay late ( Wendsday morning ) to make up for the day lost ?

Most likely no. Other lines would need the port, and it could mean that they're late getting to Boston for the next cruise. Because it was a medical emergency that caused the delay, I don't think passengers will see any form of a refund (unless they missed a shore excursion.)

Pax on the Dawn are now in sight of St. George's & rest of island, still running at over 19 knots and should be slowing down & making the turn to sail parallel, across the coral reef channel - perhaps another hour before getting into Heritage Wharf to dock for arrival. [Edit - slowed to under 16 knots & turned ... start waving to those on land, port side]

What to do, checked - Sunday - the last SeaExpress is at 6 PM and similar schedule for the buses, so it's either staying on board or explore what's open at Dockyard ... aside from restaurants, I don't think anything else is open.

As for staying an extra night, they can make up the lost time but the Summit is scheduled to be at the Wharf on Wednesday & the Breakaway is following her into Dockyard, so one of the NCL ship will need to tender if the Dawn is going to stay - maybe, they will sail at 6:30 AM on Wednesday in time to clear the berth for her bigger sibling ?

Just saw her pulling in to the Dockyard! I must say, I am always surprised at just how many people watch these webcams .. was just up to 296!

Bermuda is one of my favorite ports to watch. We'll be cruising on the Dawn very soon.

I wish that PTZ TV, would set up a webcam in Boston.

Unfortunately we do not have a busy enough port to warrant a year round port webcam. The fall months of September and October we have a ton of ship visits but the rest of the year the port is empty minus our seasonal NCL ship. (And now HAL for a short time.)
