Another busy day in Port Everglades with seven ships is port.

 

The Eurodam and the Nieuw Amsterdam are scheduled to set sail at 16:00/4:00 PM EDT. There will be more music provided by the Love Boat theme toots from Regal Princess.

The Eurodam is in the basin and the Nieuw Amsterdam is still offshore.

 

PE is beautiful this morning and 62 degrees. Forecast for sailaway is mid 70s, no rain (behave POA) and light winds...

Nieuw Amsterdam is at pier 21 today; she has usually been at 26 with Eurodam at 21.

 

Maybe because she came in after the Silhouette?

It's not looking too nice now but it is a tad warmer than the last couple of days sail-aways. Here in central VA it is mid-60s and a gorgeous sunny day. What a difference a week makes. Last Sunday we had a foot of snow and a temperature around freezing.

Sure hope the weather clears up for both of us! I saw where Miami got over 22 inches of rain during the months of Nov thru Jan. They usually get only 1&1/2 inches in January

We've had a wonderful first week with 2 couples, and have been joined this afternoon by 2 more. We've enjoyed our first bottles of champagne, and are readying for muster drill.

An unexpected surprise was to see 2 crew members who remembered us from our Baltic cruise 4 years ago, and our trans-Atlantic 2 years ago. What a shock when they see you in the corridor and address you by name! Love it!!

Happy to report it took less than 2 hours from the call to go to the Showroom until we were cleared to leave.
