I like the previous suggestion of Carnival Gala.

 

I also like the idea of resurrecting old names, so the sister ship could be the Mardi Gras II (2). A third ship???..bring on the Celebration II. :D

About two weeks after you posted that, it was announced as the name of the third Vista class ship!

Personally I would go with the following:

 

Carnival Reflection (2020)

Carnival Mardi Gras (2022 - Carnival’s 50th anniversary)

 

We don’t have any firm dates for new ships after 2022, but I would continue the Reflection (XL) class with Carnival Festivale, Carnival Tropicale, Carnival Holiday, Carnival Jubilee, and Carnival Celebration. I skipped the Carnivale would be a bit awkward with the Carnival prefix.

 

The Mardi Gras, Festivale, and Jubilee (not to mention the Carnivale) have all been broken up, and I don’t expect the Holiday and Tropicale to survive past 2021, so it should be safe to reuse the names at that point. CMV has the former Holiday up for sale, and the former Tropicale is sailing for Peace Boat, who has a newbuild due to them in 2020.

 

The former Celebration appears to be safe for a while, but it would be around 2032 before her name would come up for re-use if the Reflection class goes in historical order.

Lots of interesting suggestions so far. I have one to add. Since Dr. Seuss has become a part of Carnival, and far too many people call a ship a "boat", how about the Carnival Goat Boat?
