Because of the visit by the Minister of the Economy Bruno Le Maire to the STX France shipyard, a few good photos have appeared online.

I looks like they're hiding the bow under a large tarp. Is that really necessary? What on earth is so special about the front of the ship that they feel the need to keep it hidden even in the shipyard?

 

It may have to to with your post #391, that they trademarked "Parabolic Ultrabow". Must be something special about it.

Or it could be they are sandblasting it in preparation for painting. Such a cover is often used during sandblasting to contain the dust and rust particles, which need to be controlled for environmental purposes. Or to protect the surfaces after sand blasting to minimize any rust forming by leaving the surfaces exposed to the elements. Look at some of the other photos, such as in post #405 - many of the sections also have covers over them, and these aren't proprietary designs.
