What was your upgrade offer and what did you bid

LOL on this upgrade. My only upgrade option was Haven so placed a bid on all, currently only 7 two bedroom, yesterday there was 8, and deluxe owner suite. My chances are NIL. Nope to outright book the 2 bedroom would be almost 10K, that's another cruise, like Alaska next summer. I doubt with this limited inventory the price will drop.

It's nice to dream :)

On our recent cruise I bid on a suite from a balcony on the low end of the dial. At the end there were only 3 of these suites left and they did accept my low bid. You just never know! Keeping my fingers crossed for you!!

We bid on all Havens from a balcony for our Baltic Cruise 7/13 - I assumed a no go since it was showing sold out for weeks. Found out last week that we got the upgrade to Haven Spa for a low bid. So good luck - you never know.

Thanks that is good to know! We are booked in a mini for the extra bathroom space, anyone who has ever traveled with my daughter would understand why, lol

We've bid the max on a number of cruises and never had one accepted yet and have now been buying Haven upfront. Have an upcoming cruise where no Haven's or suites were available when we booked ... so .... just bid max again on another upcoming cruise so we will see if somehow the gods smile on us!

How much more would it cost to directly upgrade to the haven instead of your bid ?

I personally don’t think the haven is worth paying Max for, in my opinion what we paid was good value, but with kids running around, misbehaving being ignored by parents, I think if I was paying haven real money, I would use a 5 star cruise company

Just for comparison:

I'm on Breakaway in August in a mini suite. Was offered Haven upgrades, being there are 3 of us the 2 bedroom would be sweet, if I were to directly book it today I would be spending 10K above what I have already paid. I don't care how luxurious it is imo NOT worth that kind of money, that is another cruise next year

That's what I've been reading, if you are going to part with that much money booking a Haven directly better off going with 5 star cruise line. That said I have bids in for my August cruise, doubtful I'll win them as bids are what I feel comfortable bidding and quite sure many have outbid me.

The Haven is never worth the real money, all the hype, it’s only the standard cruising was 12 years ago, that’s how far the standard on NCL has dropped

That's sad, I have not cruised NCL in over 10 years, August cruise will decide if I book them for Alaska next summer

Not even going to bid. We have BA booked on the Dawn 14 night cruise. We have a larger balcony and right next to the elevators deck 11. I have no interest in the suites. If I bid on a mini suite I will have no idea where it would be. Some are in horrible locations.

Hi all

New to this upgrade thing and got my email offering us lots of tempting cabins:p:p.

We are booked in a balcony and the price for an upgrade to a Haven 2 bed family says $895pp, am I correct in thinking that we would only pay for the 2 adults not the 2 kids? And that our free UBP and service charges would carry over and would not have to pay extra? We are on the breakaway in Aug and have always fancied trying Haven but the price puts us off as we would need the 2bed with our kids. :'):')

Good to know you heard for July. We leave July 29 haven’t heard anything. I lowballed. I,m hoping I have a cabin they desperately want me out of (miship balcony) and we will get the upgrade.

You are correct about only the first 2 in cabin pay the upgrade. You should do it if you can afford. It is AMAZING!!!! But know that you may never be able to go back - we upgraded once and have been doing Haven ever since at full price because we don't want to take a chance of NOT getting a Haven.

Don't know if you'll check back to this OP, but I've been on Dawn 5 or so times and I didn't know there WERE any bigger balconies other than with the mini suites or suites. Are there a few irregular, special balconies on Dawn that CCers might want to know about? Thanks!

On deck 11 there are only 4 regular balcony cabins. We will be in 11612. The cabin is the same as a regular balcony but the balcony is the size of the mini suites. You also have an over hang from deck 12 that give some protection from sun and rain.

I got the email saying we are upgraded from an aft penthouse suite to an H3 on the Pearl to Alaska for July 8th! I'm so excited! Having a Haven room is on my bucket list and now I'll be able to check that off. Our bid was on the line between poor and fair for those of you who track that sort of thing. Thank you to everyone who has posted on this thread and given me hope!

Okay, I would like to hear some opinions. As you can see by the signature, it has been a very long time since we went on a cruise. Last cruise was on the Sea, which was less than half the size of the Getaway, and we had a smaller, port hole window cabin on that cruise. This time we are in what I think is an awesome location (forward, starboard, deck 8) with a mini-suite, large balcony with no obstructions. We have already paid off the cruise plus our excursions, already have the UBP and 3-day specialty dining, and all grats are paid. That said, we still have a "hefty" budget to play with.

With all the changes on the ships since our last cruise, should I even bother to try and bid up to a Haven cabin? Or should I just keep my existing cabin and spend my money for things like the Thermal Spa, Vibe (if possible), the casino, shopping, etc?

All opinions welcomed.
