parksguy99 Posted August 8, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 8, 2017 Hi I have a cruise coming up this September and am wondering what is the appropriate amount to tip when I order room service? antsp Posted August 8, 2017 #2 Share Posted August 8, 2017 From zero to whatever you think is appropriate, room service is part of the tipping pool. Saying the we usually tip between 2 and 5 $

CMHCruiseCouple Posted August 8, 2017 #5 Share Posted August 8, 2017 Depends on service, but usually $1 - 2 a piece for breakfast. Maybe $5-6 total for PIA experience or dinners. Sent from my SM-G950U using Forums mobile app
terpmom Posted August 8, 2017 #6 Share Posted August 8, 2017 I have always given $5 (usually items for 1 or 2 people) unless it is for several people, then up to $

Bentleg Posted August 8, 2017 #11 Share Posted August 8, 2017 You pay a service charge. I only tip if the service is exceptional. (There are so many threads on tipping. Suggest you do research first).

sunsetbeachgal Posted August 8, 2017 #13 Share Posted August 8, 2017 Don't you wonder where people come up with such misinformation?? Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Colo Cruiser Posted August 8, 2017 #14 Share Posted August 8, 2017 Don't you wonder where people come up with such misinformation?? Self justification for not tipping. :(
Rare mdgary Posted August 8, 2017 #15 Share Posted August 8, 2017 Agree we the $2-$5 range. There is no service charge and don't care even if they are included in the tip pool (which I don't believe they are). I'm sure they appreciate anything provided. Luckynana Posted August 9, 2017 #18 Share Posted August 9, 2017 We have coffee delivered as our wake-up call!😉 we tip them $2 Sent from my SM-T350 using Forums mobile app
Rare Cruise Raider Posted August 9, 2017 #19 Share Posted August 9, 2017 We usually tip between $2 for a continental breakfast to $5 if we order a full breakfast. Other than those times, we really never find ourselves ordering from room service. And just so you know, so you don't have to get a bunch of small bills out, on Princess, they hand you a delivery slip with a spot to sign and leave a tip, which will be added directly to your folio. They make it very convenient.
elliair Posted August 9, 2017 #20 Share Posted August 9, 2017 For 2 pots of coffee, cream and sugar, we tip $2. Many times they have gotten the order wrong and room service has to make another trip to get what we asked for. It never fails.
Rare 4cats4me Posted August 9, 2017 #21 Share Posted August 9, 2017 $2-$3 for continental breakfast for the two of us.
elliair Posted August 9, 2017 #22 Share Posted August 9, 2017 Here's a room service tip. The cups room service brings for coffee in the morning are too small. We get the coffee mugs on the Lido deck, they're twice the size of the ones they bring with the coffee. We grab 6 cups at a time and hide them in the drawer.;p
ggprincess2004 Posted August 9, 2017 #23 Share Posted August 9, 2017 Here's a room service tip. The cups room service brings for coffee in the morning are too small. We get the coffee mugs on the Lido deck, they're twice the size of the ones they bring with the coffee. We grab 6 cups at a time and hide them in the drawer.;p We order at least tea in the room the first morning. We drink only the specialty coffees, not the regular stuff...but having hot tea to relax with is nice. We don't just stash mugs from the buffet, we hide the carafe and refill it at the buffet as needed throughout the cruise.
