Milwaukee Eight Posted August 29, 2017 #552 Share Posted August 29, 2017 Not sure why they were in such a hurry but MarrineTraffic showed Liberty at almost 24 knots just south of Key West earlier this morning. Milwaukee Eight Posted August 29, 2017 #555 Share Posted August 29, 2017 That should make for an an empty ride on the way to Galveston. Biker, who wonders if any upgrades will offered or requested. knittinggirl Posted August 29, 2017 #557 Share Posted August 29, 2017 I get it, I just created an account a couple of months ago for the sole purpose of saving my candy crush progress so I could go from my old kindle to my new one. Priorities!:cool: I will try to find their website and see if the video is posted on that too. The guy does mention in his video that they moved cars in his lot from lower areas to higher areas to try to keep everything dry. He was speaking from inside his garage and they had pumps set up to keep things under control in there, if they could. Which one is his inside garage? I thought he had only the two lots at EZ. One thing I'll say about EZ is that DH forgot to close the window once, and when we returned, they'd covered it w/ tape.

We didn't hear of any upgrades when the Voyager was stuck in Galveston for 3 days due to fog (800 people disembarked).

allieoops12 Posted August 29, 2017 #564 Share Posted August 29, 2017 (edited) I'm scheduled to be on the Liberty Sept 3. But since like many people, I need to fly in from somewhere else, and if I can't fly to Houston, and take the Royal Caribbean shuttle or other land based transportation to the ship, having the ship in port won't mean a hill of beans to me. I would think the safest option, and my vote, is for a Miami departure on Sept 3, but probably not going to happen. RC will try to get back to Galveston. The Port of Galveston posted to their Facebook this morning that the sea conditions are still hideous and not expected to change for the next 24-36 hours. Not in those words, but basic message. Nothing I can do but wait. Edited August 29, 2017 by allieoops12
Rare BillOh Posted August 29, 2017 #565 Share Posted August 29, 2017 (edited) She is entering the channel now. The only time I saw Liberty in person was when she was docked behind Majesty in Miami 2007 on her first time in the US. tankerat Posted August 29, 2017 #566 Share Posted August 29, 2017 Wonder if this might affect re-supply of cruise ships in Galveston... anyone think so? Besides me? This is from a private school in San Antonio. .................................................. .......................................... "Good Morning Parents! On behalf of our Culinary Services Department, we would like to pass to you vital information concerning the Breakfast and Lunch Menus. Unfortunately, the recent floods in Houston have affected many of the suppliers our school utilizes for meal preparation. According to our suppliers, many companies have shut down production or delivery until further notice. This unforeseen change will have an impact on several items used here at school. Therefore, we appreciate in advance, your understanding and patience as we work diligently to find other items comparable for your child’s nutritional needs. We will do our best to communicate any menu changes as soon as possible so you can plan accordingly.Be assured, we will continue to serve them with excellence and keep you abreast immediately of any menu changes impacted by this event. Thank you again for your patience and understanding during this rough time for our fellow Texans and Great State. Sincerely, XYZ Private School"

Nothing I can do but wait. I like your attitude. Logistically, they need to get the cruisers who remain after the Miami departure back to Galveston, but I don't think they will be taking on new cruisers from there. Just doesn't make sense. And I am hopeful that Royal learned something from its mishandling of last week. It would be irresponsible for thousands of people to fly into Houston to catch a cruise ship this weekend. While you might get to Houston, you might not get out. For your sake and the others planning to board this weekend, I hope RC calls this one a lot earlier.
