Love2cruise77 Posted October 6, 2017 #1 Share Posted October 6, 2017 Very speedy response. Faxed in request @ 10:37 AM, got email with OBC added @ 10:49 AM. Good job HAL!

2LoveBikes Posted October 7, 2017 #3 Share Posted October 7, 2017 Yes. I was advised HAL is accepting shareholder request now for sailings departing up to July 2018 as well.
Takes Notes Posted October 7, 2017 #4 Share Posted October 7, 2017 I had an odd thing happen. I requested Carnival shareholder cabin credits for two 7 day sailings. The World Cruise Department only posted $50 per sailing, when the minimum is $100. A second fax got this fixed. So, happy ending.
DougandEric Posted October 14, 2017 #5 Share Posted October 14, 2017 I faxed mine in a couple of days ago and within 30 minutes I had an email that it was applied! I wish it would show on the booking like the Princess site does - but I have the email with me so if there is an issue, I have proof.
Krazy Kruizers Posted October 14, 2017 #6 Share Posted October 14, 2017 We always have had our TA take care of getting all the shipboard credits that we are due applied to our bookings. And she always make certain that we get copies of all of them to take with us.
Rare kazu Posted October 14, 2017 #7 Share Posted October 14, 2017 I've always had first class service from this department. I recently faxed them and had a confirmation by email within less than 30 minutes. Very impressive IMO.
AnnieBelle Posted October 15, 2017 #8 Share Posted October 15, 2017 How many shares do you have to own in order to receive a benefit?
OVgirl Posted October 15, 2017 #9 Share Posted October 15, 2017 You have to own a minimum of 100 shares. And only 1 credit per stateroom is allowed even if both passengers own 100 shares.
ChucktownSteve Posted October 15, 2017 #10 Share Posted October 15, 2017 What I don't understand, in this day and age, is why HAL requires the shareholder benefit be FAXED or SNAIL MAILED but not emailed? The other lines accept email proof & application. How many individuals have a fax machine at home? I don't have a home land line to fax something even if I had that antiquated machine. If you have a travel agent, e-mail the proof of stock ownership to your agent and he/she can get the on-board credit applied for you. At least, my agent is able to do so. They cite confidentiality as the reason for not taking emails. While we do have a fax at home (business), there are lots of office places (ie. Staples, UPS stores, etc.) that have faxes that can be used.

You can fax 2 pages (1st page of statement and page showing 100 shares owned) for free and it generates a cover page when you enter the fax details. No cost and no paper. It's the Monday after a long holiday weekend. Faxed it the request at 9:43am. Got email with OBC added at 11:38am. ;) Thank you, HAL! :D
winddawn Posted November 15, 2017 #20 Share Posted November 15, 2017 I used myfax.com yesterday (free to use-no cost) to request my shareholder credit. I got an email confirmation back this morning from HAL with an updated booking confirmation showing the credit had been applied. I was skeptical they would allow me to have the shareholder credit since my booking is a free cruise, but they did. Carnival never allows that. For those that haven't used the free online fax service, just save a PDF copy of your latest brokerage statement that shows the 100 shares of CCL stock, and myfax.com will let you upload that from your computer and then lets you add free text comments which is where I stated my name, booking number, ship, and sail date. Myfax then sent me an email with a hyperlink to click on which actually sends the fax, then I got email confirmation from myfax within a couple minutes my fax had been sent successfully. This is so convenient to use.

This morning when HAL emailed me that my shareholder credit had been applied to my booking, they attached an updated booking confirmation (PDF file). On the first page of that booking confirmation, under the "Guest Information" section, there is a line for "Onboard Credit," and the applied shareholder credit shows there. Hope that helps. CruisinNana Posted November 15, 2017 #22 Share Posted November 15, 2017 For the first time ever with HAL, I was denied credit because I have a casino rate. It's not that cheap either!

avian777 Posted November 17, 2017 #24 Share Posted November 17, 2017 For the first time ever with HAL, I was denied credit because I have a casino rate. It's not that cheap either! The Carnival Corporation "Shareholder Benefit" (copy attached for your convenience) clearly provides that "anyone cruising on a reduced-rate or complimentary basis are excluded from this offer." I believe your "casino rate" qualifies as a "reduced-rate" fare and thus IMO the shareholder benefit was correctly denied to you. 2017ShareholderBenefit.pdf
MisterBill99 Posted November 20, 2017 #25 Share Posted November 20, 2017 Isn't My Fax $10 a month? But I'll try FaxZero. I'm not cruising until next September so I guess I'll wait until July. I used gotfreefax.com to fax my stuff over and it worked well. It's normally a pay service but you can send up to two 3 page faxes a day for free. No advertising on the cover page, either, unlike some other services. Shareholder benefit question -- I noticed that it says you can't use it for service charges. Is that really enforced and non-refundable OBC can't be used for gratuities that are billed to your account? I had $100 shareholder OBC on my March cruise and I spent less than $100 other than gratuities and I do not think I lost anything. I'm going to have $325 non-refundable OBC on an upcoming cruise ($250 shareholder + $75 for being part of a group) and was planning to have it apply to gratuities.
