Mom2labs Posted October 29, 2017 #1 Share Posted October 29, 2017 Nobody cleans up after themselves, food dishes, cups, glasses all over the place in common areas. Also there is a distinct lack of Royal personnel cleaning up. Disappointed with fellow cruisers and this staff so far. Came off Allure and Oasis in the last year and there was nothing like this. This is definitely a turn off. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

momto2js Posted October 29, 2017 #8 Share Posted October 29, 2017 The thing is they don't have self serve busing stations on the ships. I am happy to clean up after myself, but there is no place to put the stuff and trash cans are few and far between.
Mom2labs Posted October 29, 2017 Author #9 Share Posted October 29, 2017 2nd day! I forgave yesterday for that very fact. It’s noticeable to a lot of folks on board and they are talking about it. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Pratique Posted October 29, 2017 #11 Share Posted October 29, 2017 Is this boarding day? So this is the first lunch? What are you doing? Trying to downplay the OP's concern? And if so why? First day, last day, it doesn't matter. The ship should be kept clean.

Merion_Mom Posted October 29, 2017 #13 Share Posted October 29, 2017 food on floor in elevators this morning too! Sent from my iPhone using Forums I would go to Guest Services and ask to speak to the Hotel Director. I would ask him if understaffing is a problem, or what, because you are very disheartened by the lack of staff picking up the dirty dishes all over the ship. You may want to be fully "armed" with pictures that are clearly from various parts of the ship Good luck.
Mom2labs Posted October 29, 2017 Author #14 Share Posted October 29, 2017 Funny juxtaposition: Royal staff at NextCruise desk disinfecting her work space when right across there are tables that must have seen 5 different groups eat lunch and there are plates piled high. Rather funny in a disturbing way. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Pratique Posted October 29, 2017 #15 Share Posted October 29, 2017 No, I am trying to figure out the situation to A. understand it and B. advise the OP. What are you doing? Trying to understand why you are asking so many questions. The original post was quite clear. The OP is venting. I have seen an excess of dirty dishes on the first day and it is an unpleasant way to begin a cruise. There's really no excuse for it, even if there are explanations as to why it happens. SeaPete Posted October 29, 2017 #17 Share Posted October 29, 2017 Sorry to read about the current situation. We disembarked Anthem 3 weeks ago and never noticed this problem...aside from dirty dishes outside a stateroom. We loved the ship and the staff. DaniDanielle Posted October 29, 2017 #19 Share Posted October 29, 2017 The port is 15 minutes from our house! Also, being from Staten Island we are not quite New Yorkers. We like Anthem but do prefer the Oasis class. We tried to go on the Allure in Sept. but the hurricane got us. This trip our son had already booked so we are going with them on the 11th. Used our FCC to book. We would be happy if Royal brought in some new ships, we did like Liberty. Sent from my iPad using Forums
maggieq Posted October 29, 2017 #20 Share Posted October 29, 2017 Saw the same and was pretty shocked. Dirtiest ship we have sailed but I was shocked at the lack of attempt to clean up. Our cabin looked like it hadn't been vacuumed and dusted in a while. And before you say I should have complained, I shouldn't have to and cloroxed it myself. I see we have been on many ships of the same. Allure, Oasis, Summit, Breakaway, Explorer and the Anthem. I have to say that the Anthem is my least favorite Ship and miss the Explorer :( Sent from my iPad using Forums

Never had a bad cruise...the Breakaway was wonderful, but the pool area was sooooo small...but loved the outside venues. The Explorer will always be in my heart....the Summit......service and food amazing....Oasis and Allure....tons of stuff to do and pool areas were incredible!!! How about you? DaniDanielle Posted October 29, 2017 #25 Share Posted October 29, 2017 WE loved Oasis and Allure. Getting to Florida was tough though. Breakaway was my least favorite and we sailed half price in a balcony cabin because of the casino deal. However, I would try again but only in the Haven. Pool area was horrible. We never had a cleanliness problem with the Anthem but who knows what happens from week to week.
