What was your best last minute rate?

I was thinking of retiring to Florida at some point. One big reason is the opportunity to cruise with out flying in the day before. I was curious about people's experience with pack n go.

We retired in FL a couple years ago, still waiting for a decent pack and go rate. [emoji39]. Really haven't seen anything spectacular with prices.

The cheapest cruise we ever got was a 3 dayer for $129 about 4-5 years ago now though. Of course for us we are in Michigan and had to pay for airfare too, but we got that for a great rate Booked and sailed wihin a month.

We do see a lot of last minute deals that cruise out of CA, but nothing similar do far for FL.

Our best ever was an NCL cruise from San Francisco to Santiago Chile... $499 for 19 nights!! Just $26/nt ... haven't anything quite as good since that one, but we keep looking :)

Norwegian Escape. Sailed solo, extended balcony, drink package, internet package, 7-nights.....$829. No double supplement charge. Booked it about 10 days before sailaway.

Cheapest we had was one of our winter 7 day Pride cruises. We booked about two weeks before the sailing date and we got a balcony for under $500. I think is was $475.

I believe NCL offers some Sail Away offers, which are last minute cruise deals. I’ve never taken advantage of them because the cost of flying somewhere to catch a cruise is what keeps us from sailing more than once per year. Back in 2004, we were offered a Past Cruisers cruise from NYC to Nova Scotia on the Carnival Victory for only about $400 total for a 4 or 5 day cruise (can’t remember exactly how many days) Since we live in NYS, we drove, and saved the air fare.

Thanks Expat, as I mentioned I'm aware of the OBC for shareholders, have used that perk many times. But I don't consider OBC a discount on price of cruise which is what the poster mentioned.

I wonder if the OBC was confused with some kind of discount. I've never heard of the OBC being used against the cost of the cruise.

The lowest rate we've ever gotten was January 2015 - $280pp 7 nights on Magic for an inside - ended up upgrading to a balcony on deck 8 for $350pp.

trial and error.

 

we usually only sail for 6+ days/balcony, but stumbled across that deal and booked. the norwegian sky always offers free drinks to everyone.
