No change in the wine packages

Had dinner at the Tamarind with new menu.  The biggest issues for us is no Sushi option.  If you want sushi you have to pay  a la cart prices.

 

there is a new Curry Barramundi which was excellent along with the Crab fried rice.

Good morning Cartagena!

 

last night was our first gala and went off flawlessly.  Seemed to be the standard Iberico Ham-shrimp cocktail-escargot followed by filet/shrimp-lamb chop-sole-mushroom risotto.  All excellent especially the iberico ham.   

 

Off to the local el Corte Inglese will post some more pictures later

It sounds like the PR, press and corporate will be leaving tomorrow from Malaga.   They cancelled our Pinnacle Reservations tonight as they are having a private event so they maybe having a send off dinner for them

 

Mr Orlando gave a state of the company presentation was nicely done.  One point during the Q&A he was asked about the poor state of the website.   He responded that he was well aware of the issue and had a team working on it

 

Time will tell :—)

 

still a few contractors on board. They were working on some Dutch Cafe decorations yesterday, imaging they are also gunning to get off in Malaga as well.

New section of the MDR breakfast or at least new to us.  The second picture is the Quinoa parfait.  Mrs Jones liked it while Mr. Jones is skeptical.

We’ve tracked down a local cafe we had been to before.  Plaza Cafe and are having our second brekfast or merienda. Place is full of workers having their snacks, cafe con leche and reading the paper.  We decided on some 

tortilla espanola and coffee all for 2 euros.  Such a deal !!

We made it to the el Corte Ingles department store and in the Christmas area stumbled on the “Magic Christmas Forest” (rough translation).  We wandered though and came across a presentation by the Christmas Wolf (best we could guess). And while we could not understand it and the story was not familiar the rapt attention of the kids was universal 

 

 

 

 

we also found the Jamon section with some of the legs fetching 700 euros

 

 

On the way back in a tip of the hat to POA we stopped by a wine bodega, but as we were outside enjoying the sun an Estrella seemed more appropriate.

 

 

 

 

 

All in all a great day in Cartagena

With the EXC taking over the section of the Crows Nest we finally found where they moved the Computers, deck 1 atrium.  Where the old Shorex desk was on the KDam

 

They have a total of 4 workstations

We had lunch at the Pinnacle yesterday (that menu at least has not changed).  We lost track of time talking to another Gentlemen and missed the Wine Tasting.   In talking to our tablemate over 250 4 and 5 star mariners attended.  Quite the group.

 

We also chatted with the Cellar master who we have sailed several times with.    He mentioned that the Cellar master’ Dinner had 80 guests confirmed so far (and its still nearly a week away).    We have had amazing times at these CM dinners but they have tended to be much smaller so will see how it works out.
