bburf42 Posted December 12, 2018 #1 Share Posted December 12, 2018 My son’s brain would explode if a robot made him a (virgin, of course) drink! I know kids are not usaully allowed in the bars but would it be possible for him to come in order a drink, watch it get made then take it elsewhere to enjoy? He’s a 5yo robot fanatic! Early in the day perhaps?

Sure - don't know if he'll be able to reach to get the finished drink. He can stay in the area, it's not an enclosed bar with exclusions. There are no walls (just the back wall where the robots are). It's open where everyone can watch.

bobbie0253 Posted December 12, 2018 #5 Share Posted December 12, 2018 We spent a lot of time there on the Anthem with our son. It was definitely one of his favorite spots on the ship.
KelJ Posted December 12, 2018 #6 Share Posted December 12, 2018 When we first boarded the Anthem, the robots were dancing!
cindivan Posted December 12, 2018 #7 Share Posted December 12, 2018 We found them very entertaining and would often meet for pre-dinner drinks there to listen to the techno and watch Mix and Mingle (Harmony) do their thing and dance when there weren’t any current orders. The engineers who developed them did a really fun job of making them lifelike.
MacMarauder Posted December 12, 2018 #8 Share Posted December 12, 2018 My son loved the Bionic Bar on Anthem, no problem having kids around them. As we were leaving the ship he had to say bye to the robots. I'm probably one of the few people crossing their fingers that Oasis will get a Bionic Bar during the Amplified upgrade! mrkfla1 Posted December 12, 2018 #9 Share Posted December 12, 2018 (edited) This bar is more a novelty bar then your normal bar on the ship. A lot of people just watch and while some do order drinks and hang out for a few minutes the turn over is rather quick. A lot of times nobody was there. Unless something has changed since we were on ( Harmony Sept 2017 and 2018) your son will have no problem watching the robots. My 3yr old ( 2017) and then 4 yr old (2018) could watch them for hours. He couldn't wait to see them again this year when we went. He wasn't able to reach the drink but you could order him one. He wasn't the only child watching as it is pretty cool for adults but is fascinating for kids. Edited December 12, 2018 by mrkfla1
lovescats5 Posted December 12, 2018 #10 Share Posted December 12, 2018 Also, kids cannot order their virgin drinks. We had to order for my granddaughter (11 yr old) but she went and picked it up. It is fun to watch. But you can sit there and watch for as long as you want. No time limits and no one will chase you away because you have a minor with you. taglovestocruise Posted December 13, 2018 #11 Share Posted December 13, 2018 Kids can go to any bar without a problem. On our last Oasis cruise our 12 year old granddaughter spent several evenings with us in Dazzles. She and her grandmother danced the night away. Early in the day perhaps? Regarding your comment about kids not being allowed in bars, on RC there is no such rule. Kids can go pretty much anywhere with their parents - only restrictions might be actual nightclubs and/or casino. You often see kids in bars including dancing and having a good time. Bookings on Virgin open in less than two months - the whole line is adult only.
