On gala nights in MDR men should be permitted to wear thongs, King Gee shorts and blue singlets:classic_ohmy::classic_laugh:

hahahahahah

Or at the least.... one of the black t-shirts with  a bow tie/shirt printed on the front.

Formal tshirts would be OK but I really don't want to see hairy armpits while I'm enjoying my caviar and lobster so, I'm sorry, but singlets will have to be banned.

What would I want to see in a cruise line that caters for Aussie customers?

- Decent coffee is number one. Depending on the barista, it can vary very significantly between decent to dreadful

- More varied casual food options instead of the usual burger/pizza/hot dog options. As mentioned, meat pies, lamingtons, sausage sizzles.

- Limit the number of ridiculous fancy shops. Why are they taking up valuable cafe/sitting space? Exactly what percentage of a cruise ship's passenger list on any given cruise are shopping for expensive clothes and handbags and jewelry etc every day that would require dedicated shopping space on a ship instead of going shopping in ports?

- Well appointed kids clubs with flexible / extended hours

What would *I* want to see in a cruise line?

- No Casino

- More areas with comfortable, large, well lit tables for socialising or playing board/card games

This would be the dress code for formal night, along with black thongs

A corner shop where you can buy chips, bickies, lollies ice creams etc, just like going to the servo.

Image result for corner shop australia

I was going to say the range of shops most small towns had back in the 60s, the corner store (lollies and milkshakes) fish and chip shop, pie shop, maybe a Chinese or if you town was fancy even a pizza place.

then a pub, with some real beer and a lounge so the Shielas can let us blokes get on with men’s stuff.

I was thinking about that.  CUB have tank bars now where they deliver directly into the tank.... something like that would be awesome.  Not sure how it would go on a cruise ship though.

Like all the ideas,

I would like to see all balcony cabins 2000pax or less, yes no shops just a general shop for thing you would need, a place to get real fish and chips, more sitting areas for the people whom wish a play cards and board games.... reading areas ( quiet places )... and the big thing run all year round... as well as doing out and back from Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane and Sydney..

and as some other line have done get rid of baths and put in a good size shower with door.

Cheers Don.....

I’d have once been all for balcony only but since then have met some people who would much rather an inside or O/V so I’m not so sure anymore.

I who often get vertigo and don’t want to cross it with motion sickness book an inside just in case of rough seas and need to hibernate.

Cheers Carole

Definately Australia trained baristas and yes to a good dim sum/yum cha at least once in the cruise. I like a full promenade deck too, and more over the top cruises in spring/autumn to take advantage of the better weather conditions and so we over here in the west get more options.

Image result for vegemite tubeNeed I say more!

On our recent trip on SeaDream II the Hotel Manager arrived at our table on the first day at Breakfast bearing a silver salver with a small jar of vegemite on it.  He remembered from our previous voyages that my wife  sometimes like to have some vegemite with her toast. As he said they keep a jar on board in case any Australians need a fix whilst in the Caribbean or the Med.
