It is 5:00 PM here and I just finished my packing.   There are always those last minute items to drop in the bag like our shaving kits.    Next is for me to get all my Electronics together.   Being a major Techno Silicon Valley Nerd it is incredible what I bring along.

I have read that they have changed the TV's and no longer are they able to be unlocked to use the HDMI.  I'll have to see if I can get the engineering department to unlock the hotel mode.

Let me know if that works.  We were able to get them to set up our DVD player, but we were in a suite and had the MC concierge arrange it.  My sister and I will be in Aqua in August, and I might bring it there too, so it would be good to know if it's worth it.

(And the MC staff thought it was hysterical that we came with the complete:  Harry Potter movies, Star Wars movies, and Lord of the Ring movies.)

Actually Cafe al Bacio isn't too bad once I learned to order properly.   If you order a Double Cappuccino DRY it comes out similar to a Starbuck.    If I order a regular Cappuccino they have a tendency to make it more like a Latte.

LOL..... Actually I  hit two every day;  both are in Mountain View  -   Stop 1 is Starbucks at El Camino Real and Grant  right off the Steven's Creek Trail and the second stop where the picture was taken is The Starbucks at Castro and Church.    I usually order them remotely from my Starbuck App so it is awaiting me when I walk in the door.

Will have to try that dry double cappuccino. Hoping to see you one morning at the Cafe. Usually there when they open. I bring back coffees for me & DH & we sit on our balcony watching the world go by planning what to do that day.

I'm sure you may bump into me getting coffee.    A double cappuccino is always on the top of my list first thing in the morning.

Ugh.... it is 5:00 AM and we are up and having breakfast.    I have a Uber scheduled for 5:55 so we should be in good shape.   Our weather is perfect, so we should not  have any flight delays.  Luggage is next to the front door just begging to get going.

I am the same way.  I am a early riser and I MUST have coffee ASAP, lol.  Lorraine, Jim, please say hello if you see me.

See you both very soon.  Jim, Iain, wishing you a good travel day.

I will be following along. I love Bermuda. That`s where my  DH proposed to me 30 years ago.

Enjoy, Heather

So romantic...we love to take photos  under the moonroofs.  They are popular there!

Looking forward to following along, as I have always enjoyed your live reviews.  Plus, I grew up in Rhode Island, now live in New Hampshire, plenty of family vacations to Newport and Maine when I was a kid, and my very first cruise was last year, to Bermuda, on the Summit.  So I'm sure your review will bring back lots of memories!

Hope you and Lain have a great cruise!

I’ll be ‘virtually’  cruising along with you too. After 5 years away from X, mostly with Azamara, we’ve booked the Summit for August 2020. Looking forward to reading your insightful views. 😉😀

Have a great trip. Can't wait to follow along again. Your posts and photos are always wonderful.

Hope you are as lucky with the weather as your last trip.

Interested to know how Summit compares to Infinity after Summit Edge upgrades?

Jim, you mentioned briefly that it was you guys 30th Anniversary. Congratulations on that, together 30 years and raised 3 kids, that's something to celebrate. DH and I wish you the best, and many more happy year together.

Very interested in reading this review. I would like to know about the Summit re-do as my DH and I sailed to Bermuda on the ship last July.

We thought the crew was very helpful and enjoyed the ship as it was. Curious to see how the Kelly Hoppen design has affected the public areas.

We have enjoyed several visits to Newport. One summer ,we attended the installation of Jimmy Connors into the Tennis Hall of Fame at the Casino ( the tennis club, not the place with slot machines ).😀 Itwill be interesting to see what you choose to do there.

Bermuda is our favorite vacation destination. Since our honeymoon in 1983, we have visited thirteen times.

The pink sand is not technically sand, but crushed coral. This is the cause of the pinkish hue.

While Horseshoe Bay is lovely and very popular, there are other beaches just as lovely  and perhaps a bit quieter.

Warwick Long  Bay comes to mind as well as the expansive Elbow Beach.

The Elbow Beach Hotel was offering a limited amount of day guest passes if you are interested in a relaxing beach day at a pretty property. They may still offer these passes.

For a celebratory dinner, I suggest the Waterlot Inn.

The staff there has always provided us with exemplary service.

I do hope that you and Iain enjoy your stay on the Summit and your visits to the ports x2 !
