Coastal Kitchen/Symphony. Lowly Junior Suite ??'s

First time in a Suite (Junior) on Royal and interested in trying the Coastal Kitchen. I know it is only available to us lowly JS'ers for dinner on a "if available" basis.

My questions...

...Is this something we try to reserve ahead of time or upon embarkation?

...Should we try for reservations each morning, hoping for cancellations?

...Should we just show up to the CK and hope for the best?

You have to wait and book on board.

Stop by as soon as you board and see what's available. You may have to knock, but door is usually open early on boarding day since no one has keys yet

If you don’t mind eating earlier, you shouldn’t have a problem getting a table in the Coastal Kitchen. Last October we were on the Allure, for fourteen days, and never had a problem getting a table. We got there shortly after 6pm and we when left, before 7pm,  there were still many tables available. There were a lot fewer tables on lobster night though.

You might have a problem getting a reservation for “prime time” dining. Some nights, after dinner, we would sit in the suite lounge for a drink, and about 7:30, and it looked pretty full.

Once you book for the first night, stop by the desk after dinner and book for the next day before leaving.  We never had a problem getting a reservation.

Agree, be ready to be flexible with eating times available and go to CK 1st day. But though rare at peak travel/Holidays or when many upper tier are traveling a few CC Members in Jr Siites reported they didnt get use CK at all.

And don't worry if you can't make reservations at CK....there are soooo many nice dining venues on the ship, more than you can do in seven nights.  😉

I agree with Island Lady..lots of other choices.......I enjoyed the CK setting on Harmony, but the food was just average.  We only ate there a couple times on a B2B cruise (14 days). Buy the 3 night dining package....and think of the money your saving by not booking a grand suite (or higher).

I ate in the CK on Oasis and was not impressed. I had two nights booked but I did not go the 2nd night as we just didn’t like it!

Nope, strictly for suite guests and Pinnacle level C&A members.  Guests of these groups are sometimes allowed.

Ask the host/hostess/concierge.  Your friends may be able to join you for dinner one or two nights.

Presently on the Allure. Pinnacles and Suite guests can bring guests one night for dinner in the Coastal Kitchen.

 

Some of the parents sailing in suites have their older children sailing in regular cabins. Their children are able to join them for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day at the Coastal Kitchen. These children also have full access to the Suite Lounge everyday.

Are the extra guests making CK crowded for breakfast and lunch?

They did not pay to be there. Does not matter if it was busy.

It would matter if all the tables were in use when other suite guests wanted to eat.

I've never seen CK busy for lunch or breakfast,  even on the President's Cruise.  Some days it's a total ghost town

 

I've seen officers and managers there all the time at lunch

I have seen CK crowded a few times for lunch had to wait a little while for a table , also found it very noisy , but great view.

We are in a JS (Emerald)  and traveling with our friends who are in a Grand Suite (Diamond Plus).  We won't have a problem eating together, I hope.  Thoughts?

Your friend in GS should be able to make reservations for your group via concierge
