When you board go to see the maitreD of the main restaurant and ask or try MTD restaurant to see if they could add you to my time where you can easily get a table for 2. If you are D+ and above you could try ringing C&A a few days before your cruise and they could email the ship for you. If you are in a Suite let your genie know your preference. snaefell Posted July 31, 2019 #5 Share Posted July 31, 2019 We too like a table for 2 but on our last cruise on P&O's Britannia many of the tables for 2 were so close together we might as well have been sharing with one or two unpleasant experiences! Happened to us on Princess. Unfortunately the guest next to us didn't stop talking to us and it was very annoying. Also a problem on Celebrity in Blu dining room-

Also a problem on Celebrity in Blu dining room- Very much in the news at the moment but both of our bad experiences on our last cruise on Britannia were alcohol related, one who thrrew down whiskeys like they were going out of fashion & had to be helped from the table by his Wife mid meal & the other was very loud & had a teenage daughter who was having to keep apologising for him,not the only night we saw that happen! Snit13 Posted July 31, 2019 #11 Share Posted July 31, 2019 Seems like less than 6 inches between tables thus your table for 2 (unless you luck out and get a window table) will more likely than not be a table for 8 side by each. Even window tables for 2 just have width for waiters to walk thru. Go to MDR early and request a table for 2 by the window. Tip will be appreciated! cruiseguy1016 Posted July 31, 2019 #12 Share Posted July 31, 2019 (edited) If we have had a specific table request, we have always sent an email to rcldining@rccl.com to make that request. We send the email several weeks in advance and have always had our request fulfilled. If you wait until you get on the ship to make the request, there may not be tables available. johnjen Posted July 31, 2019 #13 Share Posted July 31, 2019 We're the exact opposite. Prefer the larger tables and meeting the other cruisers. But what I did notice in our traditional dining was how tables for 2 seemed to be very rare or not noticeable, maybe the demand wasn't on this cruise for it. Our last "table for 2" was on the only Carnival cruise we will ever take and they had us (literally) under the stairs on Carnival Glory even though we specified seating at a larger table. Second this, but recommend not emailing until 3 weeks prior to sailing. Emailing this early is pointless. However, if you have My Time Dining there is no need to request prior. taglovestocruise Posted July 31, 2019 #15 Share Posted July 31, 2019 The few times we had a table for 2 we ask for a table along the balcony, those tables are well spaced from neighbors.
