Lisamarie18 - thanks for letting me know.  Well, at least you were told the same thing as the guy told me - lol.  Glad you got it sorted out before your cruise.

Cheers,

There seems to be the info on the site now. It is now a couple of euros under the price of Premium (around 3-4 USD, I guess)

It says it's NOT available on board and includes:

Save time and money when you purchase our new Premium Plus beverage package, available for a limited time only. Enjoy all the benefits of the Premium beverage package, which includes all the top-shelf spirits (89 options), vintage wine (161 options), liqueurs & cognacs (24 options), beer (44 options) and champagne, plus the following:

• Two bottles of wine
• $50 in casino free play
• Wine tasting experience
• If more than one adult in the room purchases the Premium Plus beverage package, the stateroom mini-bar will be included and replenished once a day for your entire vacation.

Lisamarie, so did you pay the standard $12 per day ($10 plus 20% service charge) to upgrade to Premium when you called Captain's Club?

I was about to call to ask... we upgraded to Premium.

WHY this package is cheaper is odd.

Those "perks" are never free... we pay for them and then the upgrade...

Actually it was a free perk with the Sale they had last year over Thanksgiving.  They were giving one free perk with a booking along with 25 dollar deposit.  The price was the same if you booked with a perk or no perk.  If you added an additional perk then there was an increase in price of like 325 or so I remember.  It was a really great deal and none of the sales since then have come close to the price I paid for a C2 room.  I did have to pay for the upgrade but they were also running I think 25-30% off on drink pkgs so payed 103.84 (includes grats) for an 11 day upgrade to Premium Pkg.  Which I thought was reasonable to do.

What was a "free" perk?

You are speaking sale/sailing specific

In our experience--we see the stripped down rate -- then the rate to add perks (usually 2) then have the ability to add all 4... Perks are bundled but never "free".

We book through a US platform so YMMV

We have several booked and of course fares go up... and of course those "bundles" go up. People brag about their rate/perks and often when we run the numbers--it was no deal

The sale I got the bev pkg on the rate was the same if you got no perks or picked one. The non refundable rate was the no different with no perks. It was last years Black Friday sale.  The rate for a c2 on 11 day cruise was 1700 pp. non refundable. The refundable was 1700 plus one perk free plus only 25 dollar deposits.  No additional cost at all. Only time I have seen a sale like that was then over thanksgiving weekend or there Black Friday sale

every other “sale” the cruise has been over at least a 1000 more when comparing. I run the numbers on all the sales and have not come close to paying what i am for my upcoming cruise

I don’t find the fact that it’s cheaper as odd. They are incentivizing people without the classic package perk to buy by offering more things at, more or less, the same price. They created the different package so you can’t upgrade to it.

Hi,

Just an update on the Premium Plus Package.

I’m currently onboard the Equinox and pre purchased the Premium plus package online for both of us in the room. Two bottles of wine, invitation to wine tasting and casino credit was waiting in room. I called guest relations to ask what mini bar items are included and if it includes the Pringle’s and other non beverage items.  Guest relations insisted that mini bar is not included. I told them to double check and they said they will call me back. I got a call back and again they advised mini bar is not included and asked me to bring down documents showing proof that it’s included. I had screen shot the original offer as I had a feeling this would be an issue.

I went down to guest relations and again they advised mini bar not included. I showed the screen shot so they went to the back of the office to check. After 10 min the ships beverage bar manager came out and advised me that all things including non beverage items will be included and replenished once a day.

Ill check at at the end of the cruise to make sure this will be taken care of and of not charged and let you all know.

This is very interesting offer !

I have the Classic Package and will probably upgrade to the Premium Package on embarkation day, possibly to get a better offer.

But, if it is in fact that the Premium Plus Package is what everyone is saying that would be such a great offer.

I agree with previous posters that you can call Celebrity 10 times and could get 10 different answers, I know, it's happened to me !

I upgraded to the prem package for $100 each by just calling.  Then there is the $20 each for gratuities.  Easy peasy!!

I assume that you didn't have any package prior to buying the plus? You didn't upgrade from a perk?

Thanks

Correct, our cruise fare included no extras/drink packages. This Premium Beverage PLUS offer is only offered to those who don’t have a drink package included in their cruise fare.

Correct - if someone doesn't have a package already, the premium plus is a better bargain. However it won't include daily mini-bar replacement if only one has the plus. And this can only be purchased online, not on the ship.

Too bad X isn't offering it as an upgrade for those with a perk BP. Unless the price was ridiculous, I'd hand them some more moolah to have the mini-bar included.

Did you get 2 bottles of wine each?

I can see a rationale for the Premium+ package being priced less than the Premium.  Did you ever get a "free" bottle of wine that comes with your stateroom or as a gift from a travel agent. It is usually the absolutely lowest priced wine on the wine list and is pretty awful.  In fact, if we already have the premium package with some excellent wine, why bother drinking the "free" bottle?  We often just leave it behind when we disembark.

If people drink the two "free" bottles, perhaps they would order fewer premium wines at the bar and in the dining room. Thus, the cruise line may be saving money.

As far as the $50 in casino free play, the cruise line is betting (with stats on their side), that once you start playing, you continue playing.  It is highly likely that you will give it all back and then some.  Even when people have big wins, more than enough will give it back compared to the few who walk away.  Otherwise, the casinos would go out of business.

As far as the minibar in the room, I have no idea. They say they stock the minibar and replenish it daily. But, they don't say that you won't be charged for what you consume.  We will have to wait and see what people actually experience.

Thanks to the thread starter for bringing this new promotion to our attention.

Package plus included two bottles for the cabin. They were in our cabin when we arrived. We did not choose them and received 2 bottles of Anakena Carmenere 2018.
