Bojeanne Posted September 26, 2019 #1 Share Posted September 26, 2019 Thinking of a spring cruise to Bermuda. Any preference on Grandeur of the Seas vs. Adventure of the Seas? We like quieter, but food is more important. No kids with us. Thanks for any insight.
Clarea Posted September 26, 2019 #2 Share Posted September 26, 2019 If you don't care about bells & whistles on the ship, I'd go wirh Grandeur. Less crowded and the crew constantly gets good reviews here.
Merion_Mom Posted September 26, 2019 #3 Share Posted September 26, 2019 You haven't shared your location information. Would Cape Liberty or Baltimore be more convenient for you? I would not hesitate to book either of these ships for a five night cruise to Bermuda. If you are a dedicated gambler, you should know that Grandeur does not open the casino (or shops, for that matter), until Day 2. And then they close at 5 P.M. on Day 5. (Assuming that we are talking about the 5 night itinerary)

Another_Critic Posted September 26, 2019 #5 Share Posted September 26, 2019 Adventure spends more time in Bermuda. Adventure - 9 AM until 5 PM the following day. Grandeur - 2:30 PM until 2:30 PM the following day. There's also a 3rd option (Empress) for 7 days; she visits St. George's and Hamilton instead of the Dockyard. Plus you get 4 days in Bermuda! That would be my preference, if you choose to sail from Cape Liberty.

When is that 4 days in Bermuda cruise on the Empress ??????????? As far as docking in Hamilton or St George's it makes no difference to us and we actually enjoy the ride on the ferry or the bus to either from the Dockyard. ONECRUISER Posted September 26, 2019 #8 Share Posted September 26, 2019 Defiantly Grandeur, as you request quieter, an older Crowd and easy get around. Been going on this Class and this ship 20yrs myself.

" If you clicked the link and viewed the itinerary you would see 4 days. But, surprise, surprise, the website is wrong. 😞 It counts the departure from Hamilton and Arrival at St. George as separate days! It's day 5, but RCCL website lists it as day 5 & day 6. It's really three 24 hour periods (or four partial days) in Bermuda. Itinerary from another website. HardyVA Posted September 26, 2019 #12 Share Posted September 26, 2019 We have a 12 night cruise on Grandeur to the Carribean out of Baltimore in April. I’ve read some negative things about the ships food, service and fitness center.. anyone care to comment? I’m thinking of cancelling. We have always cruised with Celebrity Summit and have been very happy.

I love this cruise!

If the OP needs earlier, Empress won't work. First Empress Bermuda cruise out of Cape Liberty is May 4.

Can't speak to the fitness center.

The food has been very good this week and the service has been outstanding. Don’t expect the gym to be as good or as big as the Oasis Class gyms - but it has been good enough for me this week and has been a ghost town. I was the only one in there on more than one occasion. CruisinCons Posted October 1, 2019 #18 Share Posted October 1, 2019 We've sailed on both Adventure and Grandeur, and will be on Summit in October. Adventure offers you more to do; more venues - pub, etc and promenade instead of centrum. Has mini golf, ice skating. Grandeur offers you views of the ocean from everywhere, less venues but the ones they have are bigger and have views of the ocean. Has rock wall. We loved them both - but they offered us different experiences. We did Adventure with our college aged kids and their grandparents, we did Grandeur just the two of us. Service on Grandeur is AWESOME. Fitness center is OK. Not that I visit it often. 🙂 But it is not a large, well equipped commercial fitness center.
