Grandeur vs. Adventure

Would Cape Liberty or Baltimore be more convenient for you?

I would not hesitate to book either of these ships for a five night cruise to Bermuda.

If you are a dedicated gambler, you should know that Grandeur does not open the casino (or shops, for that matter), until Day 2.  And then they close at 5 P.M. on Day 5.  (Assuming that we are talking about the 5 night itinerary)

Adventure spends more time in Bermuda.

Adventure - 9  AM until 5 PM the following day.

Grandeur - 2:30 PM until 2:30 PM the following day.

There's also a 3rd option (Empress) for 7 days; she visits St. George's and Hamilton instead of the Dockyard.  Plus you get 4 days in Bermuda!   That would be my preference, if you choose to sail from Cape Liberty.

I would go with AD for this reason.  I did the 5-nighter on EX out of Cape Liberty several years ago and the two full days in Bermuda were great.

The Grandeur spends from 2pm on day 3 to 2pm on day 5 during her 7 day Bermuda cruises.

When is that 4 days in Bermuda cruise on the Empress ???????????

As far as docking in Hamilton or St George's it makes no difference to us and we actually enjoy the ride on the ferry or the bus to either from the Dockyard.

The Adventure and Grandeur cruises I referenced are 5 day.

If you clicked the link and viewed the itinerary you would see 4 days.

But, surprise, surprise, the website is wrong.  😞  It counts the departure from Hamilton and Arrival at St. George as separate days!  It's day 5, but RCCL website lists it as day 5 & day 6.

It's really three 24 hour periods (or four partial days) in Bermuda.

Itinerary from another website.

Day 3 Wed May 6 Hamilton: DOCKED
    Arrive 2:00 pm
Day 4 Thu May 7 Hamilton: DOCKED

Day 5 Fri May 8 Hamilton: DOCKED
        Depart 6:00 am
Day 5 Fri May 8 St. George/Bermuda: TENDERED
    Arrive 7:30 am
Day 6 Sat May 9 St. George/Bermuda: TENDERED
        Depart 2:00 pm

OR

Day 3 Wed May 13 St. George/Bermuda: DOCKED
    Arrive 2:00 pm
Day 4 Thu May 14 St. George/Bermuda: DOCKED

Day 5 Fri May 15 St. George/Bermuda: DOCKED
        Depart 6:00 am
Day 5 Fri May 15 Hamilton: DOCKED
    Arrive 7:30 am
Day 6 Sat May 16 Hamilton: DOCKED
        Depart 2:00 pm

We have a 12 night cruise on Grandeur to the Carribean out of Baltimore in April.  I’ve read some negative things about the ships food, service and fitness center..  anyone care to comment?  I’m thinking of cancelling.  We have always cruised with Celebrity Summit and have been very happy.

I have been on that cruise a few times and will do it again in November.

It is a WONDERFUL itinerary.

I love this cruise!

I agree about the Empress option.

I am on two of those cruises in May, which certainly qualify as "spring".

If the OP needs earlier, Empress won't work.  First Empress Bermuda cruise out of Cape Liberty is May 4.

We've sailed on the Grandeur numerous times.  Her food and service are better than any of the other RC's we've sailed on.  Can't speak to the fitness center.

The food has been very good this week and the service has been outstanding.

Don’t expect the gym to be as good or as big as the Oasis Class gyms - but it has been good enough for me this week and has been a ghost town. I was the only one in there on more than one occasion.

We've sailed on both Adventure and Grandeur, and will be on Summit in October.

Adventure offers you more to do; more venues - pub, etc and promenade instead of centrum.  Has mini golf, ice skating.

Grandeur offers you views of the ocean from everywhere, less venues but the ones they have are bigger and have views of the ocean. Has rock wall.

We loved them both - but they offered us different experiences.  We did Adventure with our college aged kids and their grandparents, we did Grandeur just the two of us.

Food is very subjective.  We like the food on Grandeur.  Not everything is perfectly prepared, but still good.

Service on Grandeur is AWESOME.

Fitness center is OK.  Not that I visit it often. 🙂   But it is not a large, well equipped commercial fitness center.
