SUPERBOWL ON CARNIVAL SHIPS

Can't tell you why it's packed that week, but the Legend usually sails full.

I would assume the Superbowl will at least be shown in the DreamTeam Sports Bar or Red Frog Pub. Both on Deck 2.

Depending on time of day it could be shown on the Lido. But that is your embarkation day and there may be other activities.

It's our favorite time to be on the ship.  The game will be on the screen on the Lido as well as the main theater and the bars around the ship.  It's so much fun.  Make sure to wear your home town  gear - it's fun to see how folks feel about their teams.  We are from Detroit and usually end up with Cleveland as we always have the same thing in common....

Sounds like fun and an exciting way to start the cruise.

I did it last year. It is playing all over the place including Lido, main lounge, etc. They also have extra food options out. Although my ship did not have the options listed like chicken tenders, phillies, etc. Instead, they kept the blueiguana and guys open later. Never thought I'd be disappointed by that

It was fun. My biggest problem was actually the commercials. There were virtually none of the big ones, since the feed is international. You see the same sports ads over and over again

We were on the Glory for the 2016 superbowl.  They had a huge superbowl tailgate party on lido deck before game. They did some fun games for prizes and for grand prize they gave prime seats with food and drinks ( you did not need the drink package).  Also got your own butler for the night. We didn't win the grand prize but did get upgraded seats as the lido deck was packed. It was the best superbowl party we ever attended.

Love superbowl cruises (see my trip reports in signature) but NO commercials.  We would watch the superbowl from a few locations but probably liked the main theater the best.  Lots of people cheering on and service comes by frequently to get your drink orders, etc.  Have fun with it 🙂

Sounds fabulous! I can’t wait! I do know the Super Bowl usually starts at 6-6:30, so I guess we will be missing dinner in MDR. Unless just my daughter and grandchildren go with me to dinner, and we leave the men to fend for themselves in front of the game. I suppose we could just grab off buffet and bring it out to game. We will just play it by ear. 😎🛳🌴🏖🍹🍷🍸

We were on the Glory last year during the Super Bowl and it was on the Lido screen, in the theater, and in the sports bars. The MDR was not as full that day and we seemed to get faster service as a result so we got to see most of it in the theater.

We sailed Super Bowl Sunday on the Spirit many years ago. Since the Spirit didn't have a big screen on the Lido, they had it on a big screen in the main show lounge. This was also a west coast cruise on embarkation day so Super Bowl was a little earlier in the day. Because of this they held off muster drill until the next day. That wouldn't happen today though, not since the Costa Concordia disaster. Muster drill will happen before spillway, regardless.

I have sailed while 2 Superbowls took place, once on the Victory and once on the Sunshine.

Both had the game on the big outside screen on the Lido Deck, on a big screen in the show lounge and on all the TVs in the Sports Bar.

On the Victory I really had no "skin" in the we watched in the Show Lounge and it was a fun time.

On the Sunshine My Eagles were playing the Patriots and they had a big "tailgate food" layout in the area between the Casino and Sports Bar, so we went to the Sports Bar for the game.  Got there early and secures seats at one of the tall round tables, which we ended up sharing with a couple of Patriots fans.  It was a blast, not only due to the outcome of the game.  the Bartender had some great banter going and made it fun for everyone.

My advice for anyone sailing during a Superbowl is to watch where there are people to interact with.  The Sports Bars is the perfect place to watch vs a huge screen with people spread out and no camaraderie, rivalry or interaction.  The atmosphere in the show Lounge was more like people watching a movie in a theater, while the Sports Bar was more like a Superbowl party at a friend's house.

We watched that Super Bowl in the Red Frog Pub on Magic. Similar to you, we got there early and sat at the bar right in front of a TV. Not only was the atmosphere great there, but finally seeing the Eagles win a Super Bowl is something I will never forget. It was awesome after the game talking with other people on the cruise from the Philly area who like me had been Eagles fans since the 70s or even longer.
