We cancelled our 2 2019 RC sailings last fall and sailed on MSC Seaside Yacht Club for about the same $ as the RC balcony - but with MUCH better perks, service, etc. Nice status match too. Cancelled our 2 RC 2020 sailings for the Seaside YC again this coming fall. We are in that 500 point "neither fish nor fowl" area with RC and generally do about 30 nights a year at sea. We will look to RC & X again, but only for unique/bucket list itineraries and certainly not the twice a year B2B sailings we have been doing. Instead of wringing your hands and pounding your keyboard - just vote with your wallets. It's pretty liberating. How do you go about the status match? Did you do the yacht club experience? Applies to SL as well as CL. We, as have many other Suite guests, have complained. Thank goodness Royal is listening. I think all Suite guests should get the 3 free drinks during happy hour as part of their suite perks then they are not penalised if there are no seats available in the CL/SL. I don't blame you for being upset Now on Mariner last week, a partial charter had the entire VCL reserved almost all night. 😱 Ship happens. At least you can now get a frozen mocktail with your Diamond vouchers Agree. When I first made plane old Diamond over 20yrs ago, the Top Tier then, we had Suite Lounge Benefit. Also 1st on/off ship and met Captain and all Senior Staff each Cruise which was pretty much a one on one. Last Cruise so many Diamond and up overflow was 2 Lounges for Happy Hr and Continental Breakfast. C&A, is now overly popular successful but I'm not complaining. Just got off a 29 sailing with Princess and have another Seaside Yacht Club booked. MSC now calls their upper tier "Diamond" Card instead of "Black" Card, enjoyed it very much the first time. Still book some with RCI, just no more blind loyalty.

The cruise before was restricted due to numbers, I got lucky. In all cases though the expanded Diamond Lounge worked really well. Twice on Ovation, on a different Vision cruise through the Panama canal, etc. My past Anthem cruise this month was restricted. The Music Hall overflow worked great and had a bar to sit at that was very popular. I met several new friends and even saw some Pinnacle hanging out there to be social with non-P as well. I tend to cruise the longer and upper top tier heavy cruises and it's been a non-event for me (losing CL access). I've also purchased full suites at full rates (no casino or other discount) so I see it from that side too. All ships being AMPED have had CL removed and a new SL added. Adventure, Mariner, Navigator, Indy and Liberty which has been this way for a while now. I've cruised them all as D+ and had a great DL overflow experience. Oasis class has only had a DL and a SL for a long time now. I'm okay with this change and happy with the DL experience I've had when I've been restricted from the CL. Soon there won't be any CL's in the fleet. So be it. Times change. D+ levels are growing and so are P levels growing. Something had to change. We've ealso njoyed several overflow setups on almost all class of ships. Both pre and post PC

Google it. At their M&M it was wonderful, they had cocktails coming around frequently, chips & nuts on each small table, then waitresses coming around with hot hors d’oeuvre then a large cake cutting. Captain & officers stayed around talking to everyone, they were in no hurry to leave.

blackshirt Posted January 24, 2020 #98 Share Posted January 24, 2020 I am a bit surprised over the angry reaction by so many, even though it’s still not clear whether it’s every ship and every sailing or still select sailings when too many D+ are onboard. Since making D+, I’ve only been on two ships that still had a CL. I got access to one (Explorer) but only used it for coffee because it was near my stateroom. The other (Brilliance) was a transatlantic and D+ were excluded. I understand the CL on Brilliance is quite nice and would have liked to check it out but I did not miss it at all. They held the nightly event in the Colony Club and it was great. Not getting access to that CL was not an erosion of benefits to me at all.

I read it that you were accusing some suite guests of rejecting the idea of 3 drinks on their card because they are holier-than-thou. Yet there are many holier-than-thou D+ in this thread that are rejecting not only their 3 HH drinks but also the DL. "It's the CL or I'm cancelling my cruise". That's pretty much holier-than thou.
