It depends on a variety of things. For example we like Princess for their longer, more unique itineraries whereas we like Celebrity for their transoceanic cruises and cruising around the Caribbean in an Aqua Class or Sky Suite with access to their private restaurants. With Princess we usually book a club class mini-suite as we do enjoy the anytime dining option that comes with CC dining with usually no waiting to be seated. 
 

We like the multiple entertainment options on both lines as they usually have at least 4 assistant cruise directors doing a variety of things. But, if both had the same itinerary, we’d pick Celebrity in an Aqua Class cabin every time.

If the prices I see on virtually all lines are to to be the going rate going forward, our cruising days are at an end.

No way willing to pay silly prices, especially for a vanilla itinerary, just so "I can cruise."

Too many other options on the table to pay the tariffs they seem to think they will garner. 

C'est la vie.

Agreed same cruise we were going on May 2020 is at least 1000.00 more and less perks . Hoping when it get s closer it gets cheaper .

No way paying any such price for a unknown and likely further downgraded product.

Too many other travel options out there.  Ah, the cruise line corporate arrogance is back on display.

Celebrity Millenium 14 night Asia Immersion cruise

Embarkation took 30 mins. Then we were welcomed onboard with champagne & mimosa on a red carpet. (We expected this, having been on its identical sister ship Celebrity Constellation.)

Our oceanview room was comfy & spacious, but the bath cubicle was small.

We had the Classic unlimited alcoholic drinks package,  so I decided to try out their  amazing array of cocktails. The Lido poolside bar was empty & the bartender gave me his signature drink in a jiffy, with a smile.

In fact throughout the cruise, the bartender service was impeccable. They were really keen to serve us, cos as one bartender said, everytime we slash our sea pass, they earn 18% gratuity (paid by Celebrity & NOT charged to us--very nice).

All cocktails were good, though the alcohol content was 45ml. If you wanted to add more Vodka or Triple Sec, they would gladly oblige (and slash your card once again).

It was symbiotic--the more (free) drinks you order, the happier the bartender!

Drinks service was very quick, esp at the Casino bar, Sunset bar & Poolside.

Only the Martini bar had very slow service, since it was always crowded (not the bartenders fault)

Unlike Constellation, on the first day, they was NO liquer sampling. But it didnt matter, cos we had the Classic alcoholic package.

The special discount offers on alcohol purchase (in the duty free shops on deck 5), were much better than those at duty free airports in Singapore & H.K..

They also had a ladies hat, shawl & handbag sale (really cheap, only $40 for 5, mix & match)

Every morning, on the way to the buffet breakfast, there were pretty girls waiting to give you a FREE sampler head massage. Yes, every morning!

The cruise director Paul was outstanding & so was his deputy, Valentina.

Paul conducted the game shows exceptionally well & was always witty & cheerful.

He introduced all the entertainers every night. At every port, he would wait at the exit to greet the passengers & help, if required.

Valentina wore stilts & a Chinese costume to entertain the crowd at the grand poolside Chinese New Year dance party. She also conducted the social media classes ( Facebook, WhatsApp, etc), some gameshows & trivia.

In 14 days, we had only 3 grand shows, (this is the ONLY reason I deducted 1 star, as we expected more shows on a 14 day cruise)

The other 11 days had a movie night (Billy Jean King's life story), a Phil Collins tribute singer, a Stevie Wonder tribute singer, a lovely Jamaican singer (Monique),  a Vietnamese lady pianist (Van Anh Nyugen),  a lady violinist (Inna Tolstova), a singing trio from US, the Mersey  boys quartet from UK, a comedy juggler, an acrobatic couple, a comedian (Funny Bones). So, every night was taken care of.

The 3 shows--iBroadway, Boogie Wonderland & Elyssium; were 45-50 mins each & truly amazing, easily of Broadway standard. 4 of the 12 performers posed for pics after each show. But they didn't mingle or dance with the passengers (like they did in Constellation). They also performed a small act on the pool deck & in the Cosmos lounge, in addition to the 3 main shows.

For Chinese New Year, Celebrity even had a special Chinese dragon dance. The Cruise director Paul dressed magnificently like a Chinese Emperor & posed with all passengers.

The passenger vs crew (in full uniform) pool volleyball game was a blast!

Unfortunately, very few showed up or seemed interested in the enrichment health & fitness lectures. The fitness trainer who spoke on health & detoxification, was repititive. She spoke the same thing at every lecture.

The buffet lunch had a lot of variety & was very satisfying.

There were 6 diff. flavours of icecream & frozen yoghurt, which kept changing daily! Exotic flavors like cherry, pecan, peach, apricot, dark chocolate, banana, strawberry, etc

In the main dining room, the service was good, but food was below par. Often we left after starters. The desserts were also ordinary & TOO SWEET.

The buffet had better food & a lot more variety both for lunch & dinner.

The cruise itinerary was well planned, with 5 sea days & 9 port days--2 Hong Kong, 2 Halong bay, 1 HoiAnn /Hue /Danang, 1 Ho Chi Minh, 2 Pattaya & 1 Singapore; so enough time for sightseeing at all ports.

Overall I do recommend this cruise. We got a good deal,

My thought on high prices:  Corporate thinking is that since so many of us paid for our cruise months ago and got FCC, the higher prices won't seem as painful as the bulk of the fare has already come out of our checking accounts.

 

But BOY ARE THEY WRONG!  They forget that we are adults with loonnnggg memories, not someone who fell off the turnip truck.

I never paid so much for any Celebrity Cruise in the past.

 

I also got some crazy, dirt cheap last minute deals, where I paid 902 dollars for two adults for a 9 nights Celebrity Constellation Cruise in an Ocean view cabin.

Alongwith the classic alcoholic drinks package or 300 OBC per cabin as a free perk.

 

 This may have been a freak exception, but generally Celebrity Cruises were available for 100 to 120 dollars per person per night

In January, we booked an 8 night cruise to Norway for $2399 pp in a Sky Suite on the Celebrity Reflection.  Today, that cruise is listed for $4899 per person!  For 12 nights in Ireland/Iceland, we paid  $3199 pp in Sky Suite; today $6249 per person!  The SS has all four perks, and we have $1250 OBC due to an onboard booking deal.  So on these two sailings out of Amsterdam, prices have doubled.  I knew it was a fantastic price when we booked--just hope that it will be safe to sail in mid May, 2021. I'll be so disappointed if we can't take advantage of this great deal.

I am sorry; my post was confusing.  I was including the OBC for the 4 perks as well, and this was the total for both cruises

Those cruise that I have checked on Celebrity are higher.  We like Sky Suites- or better, and the prices, especially during prime weeks have increased.  We haven't cancelled our cruise in March 2021 (yet) and hope we can sail.  The August 2020, March 2020 and Jan 2021 have been cancelled so far.  

 

Hope we can sail next spring,.

WE should have been stepping off the Silhouette this weekend after a Norway cruise. The price next year (although an extra sea day) is about £800 more. We could not Lift & Shift due to the extra sea day. Prices seem to be more than we would be prepared to pay.

 

We would now consider a Princess Cruise as the prices are much better, Upgrade to the beverage package etc seems good. Norway cruises are more expansive.

 

The beverage package is a big consideration for us. We do drink a fair amount on holiday and my wife enjoys sparkling water and sugar free Red Bulls. This would put us off Cunard although may try P&O as the drinks are pub prices. 

 

May try MSC. They are offering good discounts for Healthcare Workers. Mind I always get 10% as ex-military with RCI/Celebrity

I have claimed 10% on the last six cruises with Celebrity and one with Royal Caribbean. I am ex- British Army and have a discount card available to ex-Servicemen. Not sure if available in Netherlands.

 

Unfortunately the UK does not have the respect that the USA has for its servicemen but at least I get this!

That's great! We usually only get $100 off per person on our US fares as both my DW as well as myself are retired from the USAF. Is this a standard UK X discount or just a special promotion?
