I noticed one of the photos of Arcadia was taken after the rum tasting. Must be pretty strong stuff😉😁 Avril 1
Izzywiz Posted March 11, 2021 #628 Share Posted March 11, 2021 Gorgeous pictures this morning that bring back happy memories of the week's holiday that we had at Morgan Bay in 2000 and the visit in 2016 while on Adonia. We are very fond of St. Lucia. On our first visit we did a trip to the Sulphur springs followed by the catamaran cruise back to Castries....sorry about sideways photos again! i wish we were as agile as this now!!!
Izzywiz Posted March 11, 2021 #629 Share Posted March 11, 2021 In 2016 we did an excursion to the centre of the Island so these photos of Castries were taken from the vehicle
Izzywiz Posted March 11, 2021 #630 Share Posted March 11, 2021 We had a guided walk through the rain forest to a beautiful waterfall before spending some time in Anse La Raye.
Grumpycruiser60plus Posted March 11, 2021 #631 Share Posted March 11, 2021 St Lucia, Jan 2018, Oceana,, we were met in port same day by Britannia, we wanted to see the Pitons, so took the Cat trip for half a day, very enjoyable, once back in Castries we went off for a wander around port, very nice lunch in little rest/ bar, However we did notice that the "Brit crowd" also in port for day, were notably just sitting in the various bars being rather loud. 🥱.
Aulanis Posted March 11, 2021 #632 Share Posted March 11, 2021 Looks like we did a wander around Castries in the morning and a bit of a hike in the afternoon, out to a small beach on the other side of the Airport Runway and a cemetary. It was quite hot walking and not a lot to see on the way. I think we had our swimming stuff with us but maybe just went for a paddle as the proximity of the cemetary put us off a bit. The shore there is eroding as some of the graves are now very close to the beach.

Rare Solent Richard Posted March 12, 2021 #641 Share Posted March 12, 2021 Another popular port of call. First went there on Cunard Countess in 1990. Lost track of the number of visits since then but here's a few images... ***** ***** **** ***** ...and the inevitable trip to Grande Anse Beach...

Izzywiz Posted March 12, 2021 #644 Share Posted March 12, 2021 ...and then to the Grand Etang volcanic lake and nature reserve... This was followed by a visit to a rum distillery where for $2pp you could have a guided tour +rum tasting or for $1pp you could just taste the rum!!! My DH enjoyed the rum and I loved the groundnut cake which was a bit like a spicy nut brittle...
Izzywiz Posted March 12, 2021 #645 Share Posted March 12, 2021 Our last stop was, of course, Grand Anse beach... It's a sea day for us tomorrow as we haven't been to Curacao but I'm looking forward to seeing the pictures.

Dermotsgirl Posted March 12, 2021 #649 Share Posted March 12, 2021 We went to Grenada just the once in 2008. Everybody's photos look lovely. We clearly didn't see Granada at its best. It was a wet dull day, and they had recently had a storm so there was a load of drift wood on the beaches. It was not the best visit.
Aulanis Posted March 12, 2021 #650 Share Posted March 12, 2021 (edited) Have been looking for some of Curacao and found a folder with 500 + Caribbean pics, so might have some there. Also found these for Grenada next to last one is the CMV Marco Polo scrapped earlier this year. Edited March 12, 2021 by Aulanis
