Mariner Sailings Changed

Recommended Posts

We hope that you and your family are remaining healthy and safe. We're reaching out to you with an important change to your upcoming Mariner of the Seas cruise.

We've recently had to make some modifications to our itinerary planning which impacts Mariner of the Seas' October 2021 - April 2022 sailings. As a result, Mariner's departures have been revised and therefore, we've made adjustments to its itineraries. This means your clients' upcoming cruise has unfortunately been cancelled.

We know how much time and effort go into planning your clients' vacation, and we're terribly sorry for the inconvenience. However, the good news is, Mariner of the Seas will still be offering similar itineraries from the same port - just on different days. So, starting April 2nd, 2021, to make this transition easier, we'll move them to a new Mariner of the Seas cruise with a similar itinerary.

While we know they'll have a great time onboard Mariner of the Seas, their vacation is important to us, along with the flexibility to make the best decision for them and those in their party. Below, we've outlined their options along with a few additional details.

Option 1: Stay onboard the newly redeployed Mariner of the Seas cruise

Beginning April 2nd, 2021, we're automatically moving them to a like-for-like stateroom on our new Mariner of the Seas sailing departing from Orlando (Port Canaveral), Florida.

Here's my WAG...

Oasis in Bayonne is cancelled for 2021 so they'll move her to PC to do 3 and 4 night cruises for a restart.

If you are going to dream, dream big...

Let's dream bigger, move all the ships to the Florida water's and just let them sit there. Then people can go to Florida and treat all the ships like floating hotel rooms.............Cruise's to No Where, the ships just sits there and never moves, you pay like booking a hotel room..................For how many nights you want..........you will be tendered to the ship of your choose.

All sea days.

As much as I like your guess wouldn't that affect the sailings up to October instead of October to April like they changed

Juggling things to accommodate the 3 they had there

I'm trying to remember how many ships can be docked at PC at once, Is it 4? I know the day before we sailed on Harmony we were at Grills to watch the sail a ways and saw Norwegian Sun, Carnival Breeze, and Disney Fantasy leave.

New terminal is complete but think Carnival has the lock on it.

The Norwegian ship in that photo was docked at one of the freight terminals. With the new configuration adding a third Carnival terminal, the port can support six ships docked at cruise terminals at one time. The four cruise lines that use the facilities (except for Norwegian) all currently have at least two ships home ported in PC, so 10-12 home-ported ships doing weekly rotations is not out of the question. If Royal decides to re-use its old terminal (Terminal 10), it could conceivably have at least four ships home-ported at PC. The bigger issue is parking for all those passengers.

I remember they did have a parking problem a few years ago when for a short time they had 3 ships going out of PC, I think it was when terminal 1 was new , Does anyone use Terminal 10 now?

My phenomenal travel agent just sent me this info about Mariner canceling and changing itineraries.  Both of us are going to pull our hair out.  At the beginning of the month I booked the 11/25 Mariner since my FCC from my September 2019 canceled cruise due to Hurricane Dorian expires 12/21.  (No flexibility on RCCL to extend FCC).  I've already had to drop down from a 7 night cruise to a 4 night cruise to not have to pay more money after already paying more money on 5/2020 and 4/2021 cruises canceled due to COVID.  Now I will have to pay more money on a 5 night cruise to keep the same departure date.

I completely understand why my previous 3 cruises were canceled but I'm frustrated with having just booked this cruise, my travel agent being on the phone for hours just yesterday to get us a price reduction due to a RCCL sale, and then RCCL having the audacity to send me a survey this morning asking why I booked the 11/25 Mariner cruise.  My travel agent and I have spent way too much time on these cruises. I want my money that I originally paid 3 years ago refunded (which I know won't happen).

Hopefully 5th time is the charm and we will get to sail somewhere sometime.

It's definitely a mess.  I called to see if I could find a cabin on one of the alternate sailings they gave me.  The agent said that was also a canceled cruise as well as the one they would automatically switch me to!  He has no idea what is going on.  I'm currently on hold.  He said it may be awhile.  Of course!

Ugh. The 2nd leg of my B2B was cancelled, the other seems to still be a go. It wouldn't be feasible for the 10 of us in the group to fly from Toronto to Florida to do just the 1 leg... do you think Royal Caribbean would be willing to cancel (refund) the first leg as well?

So I am a bit confused too...I was on the October 29 Mariner sailing from Port Canaveral. I received the email regarding re-deployment and used the online tool to choose an alternate sailing (I am already booked on the Navigator on October 15 which is the "chosen" cruise.)  One of the options available when I went online to choose an alternate booking was October 29 Mariner sailing from Port Canaveral.  Um, what?

They have made exceptions for me in the past.  You may have to escalate it beyond the first person you talk to.

Norwegian uses it; Disney was supposed to take it over, but I haven't heard anything about that in a while. RCL uses it on occasion when they do port calls out of NYC, but currently there really isn't a primary tenant.

I am guessing that even though the Oct 29 sailing is still an option it is a different itinerary which is why they allowed the different dates and gave people the option.  Unfortunately none of these new itineraries are available for viewing
