Mariner Sailings Changed

Recommended Posts

Good morning fellow cruiser. I got the letter also for one of my Mariner in Jan but did not receive any on 5 more they cancelled. I still have 4 in sept and more in April and May but they cancelled 2 five day in Nov, 2 in Jan, one in Feb. They had already had a charter in Jan as I had two back to back  before charter  and ruled out  a additional cruise. Two of the cruises over the fall and winter showed Indy and Mariner  in Canaveral the same time. I was wondering who was going to use pier 10  or  another and go thru the shuttle madness. Also with the increasing usage  of CoCo  and think they just needed to reshuffle. NO big problem as just found four  on Indy  with  dates that fit and better deal so booked four or the six I lost.   Bob & Nancy  The Villages, Florida

they are making Pinnacle in Dec more of a challenge

@Ourusualbeach Another question - sorry ...with our original sailing being the 28th - if we don't want to sail on the 14th Easter 5 night cruise, they are saying we can switch to 4/5, 4/19 or 4/28 - are these 4 or 5 night cruises?

Also where can I find the itinerary of the 14th cruise?

I’m wondering how you could have had a Mariner sail date of October 28th?  We are on 7 day Mariner Charter that doesn’t return until the 29th.

I don't think they meant Oct 28 since they also referenced Easter as an option

Thanks to information posted in this thread, I was just able to change my 3-day Mariner October 29, 2021 sailing to its 4-day October 29 sailing. It took two minutes to change it online, and it was posted to my cruise profile within 30 minutes.

The only problem is I want to book another cabin and the cruise isn’t listed on the Royal Caribbean website yet. I guess they are withholding it so people on the original cancelled cruise have a chance to book it.

They are doing the auto switch on April 2 so new bookings will open after that

I had the Jan 20 2022 Mariner sailing. When I checked my cruise planner today it said that my cruise was now a charter but I still had my original room. The charter is for Groove Cruise! Lots of young people coming on board to party. My TA is pretty much incognito and if  hadn.t of found out this information, I would never have known. This is a L&S from Jan 2021.

Thank you for all the information you have given me on this board!

My travel agent has still not received the letter from Royal telling her our Dec. 13, 2021 cruise has been cancelled. I noticed it myself yesterday when I went to my account online and saw it listed as CANCELLED. My concern is that my family had 2 handicap accessible cabins booked for Dev. 13th but the Dec. 9th automatic switch needs to be again in 2 handicapped cabins. When I contacted my TA and she called them yesterday they said no HC cabins are available. *****? If they are auto-switching why not to the exact same cabins? Any guesses?

Has anyone had a successful auto-change to whichever date Royal said they would automatically book you on? My Dec. 13th booking has disappeared from my cruise planner but the re-book has not shown up. My TA went on vacation on 4/2 and I'm unable to see if we had our 2 cabins rebooked or not. No contact from my TA who said she thought her internet would be spotty.

Here's a new mess I'm experiencing related to this. I started a new thread  in the Ask a Cruise Question forum. Basically my travel agent screwed up and cancelled my two cabins on the Dec. 13th sailing on April 1st. She then left the country on a vacation and never told me she cancelled them! I found out from a backup agent when RCL refused to give me any information about why the cruise disappeared from my cruise account, saying I had to deal with the TA. The backup agent spoke with 5 people at RCL and they refused to reverse the incorrect cancellation. So my price protection is lost and I'm told I have to start all over again with the FCC that I originally used to book the two Dec. 13th cabins. OF COURSE the prices have risen plus the port charges, taxes, and fees are almost $293 more per cabin for the same 5-day cruise that docks only at Coco Cay and Cozumel. I have to think the port charges of $135pp in addition to the $118.44pp taxes and fees was an error, but who knows?

RCL's handling of all aspects or this Mariner mess has been appalling.

Sounds like it is you TA’s fault and not Royals.

You are correct that my TA screwed up. However, when the backup agent informed RCL about the mistaken cancellation, it was within their power to reinstate my reservations and they refused.

Right from the start when all those Mariner bookings were cancelled, my TA never received email from Royal about it. It was me noticing that it said cancelled in the cruise planner that started the subsequent actions on my TA's part.

Sorry but you cannot blame Royal for not stepping in to fix your TA's mistake.  Your TA needs to own the mistake and fix it themselves.

Agreed.   I have a question @ourusualbeach.  Do you ever not receive RCI’s cancelation email regrading a client’s cruise?

Most of the time I do.  I do admit there have been a couple of times where I did not receive an e mail but that was an issue on my agencies end and not Royals.  It had to do with groups and the owner of the group getting the e mail.

Sorry you are going through this, but I agree with others, it was your TA's fault, Not RCL's fault.     Your TA should "eat" the difference since they messed up and cancelled your cruise, not RCL.

We hope that you and your family are remaining healthy and safe. We're reaching out to you with an important change to your upcoming Mariner of the Seas cruise.

We've recently had to make some modifications to our itinerary planning which impacts Mariner of the Seas' October 2021 - April 2022 sailings. As a result, Mariner's departures have been revised and therefore, we've made adjustments to its itineraries. This means your clients' upcoming cruise has unfortunately been cancelled.

We know how much time and effort go into planning your clients' vacation, and we're terribly sorry for the inconvenience. However, the good news is, Mariner of the Seas will still be offering similar itineraries from the same port - just on different days. So, starting April 2nd, 2021, to make this transition easier, we'll move them to a new Mariner of the Seas cruise with a similar itinerary.

While we know they'll have a great time onboard Mariner of the Seas, their vacation is important to us, along with the flexibility to make the best decision for them and those in their party. Below, we've outlined their options along with a few additional details.

Option 1: Stay onboard the newly redeployed Mariner of the Seas cruise

Beginning April 2nd, 2021, we're automatically moving them to a like-for-like stateroom on our new Mariner of the Seas sailing departing from Orlando (Port Canaveral), Florida.

Do you know anything about the Oct. 11-15, 2021 Mariner of the Seas cruise? The roll call was minimal and not current. Do you know if this is a chartered cruise?

Thank you for the info!
