Cigarette smell

So if the plan is to stop smokers from enjoying their vacation, then maybe the next step should be that no one can wear those stinky perfumes and aftershave, that are so loud they burn the hair in my nose and then the smell sticks to me for days!!!.  Oh wait,  how about they need to stop people from wearing thongs and speedo's.  I find those terribly offensive and vulgar.  My list could go on and on and on.  But, instead I just look the other way, move away from the stink or otherwise let them be.  If you don't like the smell in the casino....then how about you just don't go in there....or better yet, stay on the non smoking side!  What a concept.  We have become so offended by other people that we think we have a right to tell others how to live their lives!  I just can't!!!

Perfumes and aftershave lotions do not kill people.

My wife has never worn perfume and I have never used after shave lotion.

If you can smell perfume and aftershave then you're way too close and not respecting the 6 feet apart social distancing requirement.  Thongs and speedos don't affect people's olfactory receptors.

No, but all the bellyaching and mob rule being tossed about is definitely anti freedom. What if everyone who didn't drive a car decided to start closing streets off, taxing the crap out of you, sticking you in small corners and restricting your existence etc, because gas cars are poisoning them with their exhaust, they don't use them, they're noisy, prevent a good nights sleep in many larger metro areas, harming the planet, global warming, they kill many people every year, and they simply don't like them? Foot bikes and walking only! Stop poisoning us!!!! 

 

What about air travel? It uses a lot of fuels, pollutes the environment, spreads diseases etc. Most of the world can't afford it and the elites are essential buzzing around over them polluting as they go. What about cruising? Plenty of critics of cruising on a range of issues from pollution, labor conditions, and disease spread. Point being, it's easy to be pro mob when you don't care about what the mob is attacking, it's a slippery slope though, one day they may come for you and no one will be left to speak for you.

Whooa!  Equating not wanting cigarette smoke in your face to cars, air travel and cruising?  Whatever you're smoking.. it's not cigarettes.

People without cars don't want your petrol fumes polluting up the air they breath either. Some places like  nearly all of Utah, Denver, CO, SF bay area, LA proper, Las Vegas, NV, Phoenix, AZ, Sacramento/Roseville, CA, Central Valley in CA,(San Diego/chulavista/Carlsbad was terrible in the 90's) but yeah, it could easily be spun the same way. It causes deaths, quality of life issues, noise pollution, oh and "it's for the kids".

There are many places on the planet where driving a personal car, flying in planes, and cruising on ships for pleasure isn't considered critical. Drop the mic if you want but it doesn't change the fact that you are polluting also. You have a good night as well. I need to go dig through my humidor for a premium cigar to enjoy this evening. 😉

As a former smoker how can I tell others not to? I would be a hypocrite. But a reformed smoker. And that means telling others what to do on that issue if I go that way. Smoking is real but artificial. An era thing that lasted from a major war onward to an end of a century with huge numbers of people doing it. And before WW1 not many. And in the last few decades a massive reduction. The issue is smoke. Legalizing weed in areas is the same. I live next door to a person who has a doctor authorized prescription to weed. Skunk weed. I smell it. Inside my dwelling at times. He has three kids. This is not a condemnation of him. We all do what we have to. But you see what it is.

Since this thread quickly went over, under, sideways, down about smoking in the casino would you be cool with RC following Celebrity's lead with the no inside smoking policy and only limited authorized outside smoking area(s)?

I wouldn't have a choice .. and thats how it is most everywhere nowadays anyway.   But these "ban smoking everywhere inside and outside all over the world" Karens really need to get a grip.

Here's my question... why are non-smokers forced to avoid smoking areas?  My wife and I are both sensitive to cigarette smoke so why are we forced to avoid parts of the ship's casino or all of the casino?  Why are we forced to divert to the other side of the ship when on the way to/from the Windjammer?

So your not cool with it. I for one support outside smoking only in limited designated areas. I would hate to be a smoker now days for many different excellent reasons and limited outside smoking would be one of them.  I'm also not one to cough, hack and make a scene when I'm near a smoker. I just move along and think, man now I know what others were complaining about when I use to smoke. Best thing most of the free world did was ban inside smoking. RC has removed the Connoisseurs Clubs from their ships and now cigar smokers have to go outside to enjoy their smoke as they are not allowed to smoke cigars in the casino. So why should cigarette smokers be allowed to smoke in the casino?  BTW, your cigarette stench doesn't stay in the casino.

You can smell people who are wearing too much perfume or cologne from way more than 6 feet away.  Most of the time I can smell them before I can pinpoint the offender.

Oh I believe you and your wife are simply sensitive, not sensitive to smoke. Many people who say that simply don't like the smell. This is where vaping came from, all the Karens complaining. Now even that is under attack from all angles well because "it's for the kids". The "smoke sensitive" thing reminds me of the "gluten sensitive" thing, a fad that is mostly in peoples heads. The problem affects a very small fraction of the population but now it's hip and a widespread problem with a whole new market niche. If you're that sensitive to smoke, avoid it. Smoking is already very restricted and they are already yielding by being ushered into restricted boxes. It's not as if it's like a peanut allergy and will cause a deadly reaction; even those folks don't call for banning peanuts just because they have an issue, the simply avoid them. Should people with asthma get out the pitchforks because you drive, fly, and cruise?

When I use to smoke I used a lot more cologne than I do now and a lot less air fresheners in my truck now.  🤣

I have not driven in 18 years. You are potentially killing everyone within 6 feet of you.What is the great desire to smoke ?
