New cancellations as of Aug 3

I think it’s fair to say that this ‘announcement’ has been pretty much a SNAFU…. I don’t think it’s totally by accident that given how rushed it’s been, given the lack of clarity, no cancellation emails, sailings still on sale that they’ve announced are cancelled etc etc that……. RC have their investment analysts call today… this smacks of trying to get all good and bad news out there before this call regardless of the impact on guests….. for Bayley to ‘communicate’ this by attaching the RC Blog item to his FB page just says what a shambles this has been…. Not impressive corporate performance but will be spun as ‘look what a brilliant job we are doing….’ Today.

Received this morning from RC:

Dear Guest,
We’ve been diligently working to prepare for our Royal Comeback. It’s taken months of planning and coordinating to get up and running - from activating new homeports and communicating with local governments and authorities, to ensuring our new protocols maintain your wellbeing with our Healthy Sail Panel.
Our original plan for Anthem of the Seas was to begin offering sailings to Spain, Portugal, and the Canary Islands beginning September 2021. However, we’ve decided to extend our British Isles cruise program on Anthem of the Seas. Unfortunately, this means your sailing has been cancelled.
We know how much time and effort go into planning your vacation and apologize for any inconvenience caused by this change. Below, we’ve outlined your options along with a few additional details.
Of course they wait until after final payment to make the announcement. We have three more cruises booked and at this point we just want our deposits back. Not cruising again until RC gets their act together. Terrible way to treat customers by RC.

SO SAD. Now it will be over 2 years since our last cruise. I received the email last night, then verified the cancellation on their website. I'm concerned about the RC company in general. How can they survive like this?

easy to survive when you commit fraud by taking final payment when you know the boat won’t sail.

Hello,

This side of the pond there is no L&S option so it's a case of go with it or cancel. I'm going to cancel three and await details on 9th October before I decide what to do re 2nd October.

Regards

None of this has changed from previous cancellations.  125% on new money only...not on top of FCC's applied.  Goodwill, redeployment and next cruise OBC can be moved to another reservation (it does not automatically carry over)

This would be our first FCC, so all of this is New Money, cruise was totally paid off, so this would be an extra $600 to use, which we could put toward our Europe Cruise in September 2022.............Plus having the extra OBC to put on that cruise will help also

I assume that FCC is good to aleast the end of September 2022?

Apply by April 30 and sail by Sept 30.  You would be good to go.

Just to clarify, you are still eligible for any sailings that qualify for a lift and shift it's just your particular sailing that does to qualify.

The folks on the other side of the pond have the same options as those of us on this side.

I'm on this sailing from an old l/s from the President's Cruise.  This Anthem  isnt a cancellation, only an itinerary change, therefore they are allowing only refunds, no fcc or l/s.  Wish they would l/s  my husband isnt thrilled about northern england in September.

That explains it and they would only allow the same options if this situation took place out of the US.  The poster made it sound like the residents of the UK were getting a bad deal compared to others.  I've never seen a L&S offered for itinerary changes although it would be a nice option if perhaps they changed more than 2 ports.  Thanks

My last one was October 2017 😂   booked Harmony for 2018 and hurricane Dorian happened.  Took the FCC, and booked Ovation Alaska for 2020 and COVID happened. Lifted and shifted to September 10 2021. Crossing my fingers for 36 more days.

Yes, its like changing a Bahamas to a NE in November, complelty different.  The prices are half of what I had my GL for.  They did say they will refund the difference if we decide to stay.

The last two comments you made are not correct...   We have used L & S for two cruises and if you look at the RCG UK booking page CWC you will see the FCC is offered.

After nearly three hours on the phone bouncing around different departments, the casino assured me that our Vision B2B casino comps would both be put back into our available comps within two day and will be good until March 31st.  And expiration date might be extended again, but that will be determined later.

That's great news.  They told me they would reinstate my offer as well.  I sure hope it's the same offer.  The ones I've been getting recently have been useless.  All short cruises on ships I don't want to be on !

Cruising seems to have become to troublesome for me. No test, now yes test , canceled now moved…….😩

I’ll just take the deposit loss and think about cruising in 2023 or use it for May 2022 just in case things become less complicated.

Vacation should be fun and it’s now just a pain!

Just a quick one if I may…. Has anyone on the Harmony TA received a cancellation email as yet please? Just interested, we’ve received nothing and are interested to see if they offer L&S…. Thanks in advance

Nothing...it is still for sale on the website.  I have asked my account manager at Royal to clarify, also asked on the TA webinar now and I'm on hold dealing with supervisors on another issue and I have asked them....hopefully I can get some clarification

All the other letters were generic and applied equally to all the other cancellations.  same ship, embarkation port, itinerary length and +/- 2 weeks.  Not sure there will be a L&S offer if it is cancelled.  Hopefully I am wrong but the only thing I could see would be Allure.
