beloum Posted August 4, 2021 #4 Share Posted August 4, 2021 That sucks. Will the tests be provided at the pier for free, or will guest need to get tested privately in advance at their own expense. Vaccinated and non-vax?

MT_Sea_Cruisers Posted August 4, 2021 #7 Share Posted August 4, 2021 Negative antigen test may be tricky for those who fly into port a day ahead of time. Last test I took, it took 3 days to get the results.
Cammyho Posted August 4, 2021 #8 Share Posted August 4, 2021 I get that the cruise lines are just trying to be safe, but I wish that more people had the attitude of vaccine = no masking anymore. On a cruise where pretty much everyone is vaccinated... who cares about a mask? 19

mommyof3texans Posted August 4, 2021 #13 Share Posted August 4, 2021 Just read the new protocols on carnival.com and it states that masks are "strongly encouraged", not mandatory except as before which was during embarkation, debarkation, transportation, etc
Noami Posted August 4, 2021 #14 Share Posted August 4, 2021 (edited) Doesn’t really seem necessary, but defending against frivolous lawsuits is expensive and judges don’t always understand the science and statistics *that* much better than the public in general. If this helps them stay operational, I suppose that’s just how it goes. Glad we pushed back to 2022 earlier this month! kdr69 Posted August 4, 2021 Author #19 Share Posted August 4, 2021 Vaccinated cruises are available for guests who have received their final dose of an approved COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days prior to embarkation day and have proof of vaccination. Additionally, effective August 14, 2021, fully vaccinated guests must present the negative results of a COVID-19 test (PCR or antigen) taken within three days prior to embarkation. We strongly encourage all guests to wear face masks when indoors, particularly guests who are unvaccinated, including children under the age of 12 who should wear masks in public areas, except when eating or drinking. All guests age 2 and older will be required to wear face masks in elevators and in designated indoor entertainment areas, all retail shops, and in the casino, except when eating or drinking. Guests will be required to wear face masks prior to being seated in our main dining rooms and in the Lido Buffet area and occasionally in other designated areas where larger number of guests may congregate (signs will be posted). Additionally, masks are required at any indoor activity with children under 12 years, (i.e., Build-A-Bear®, Family Harbor, Sky Zone®). 5

LHARTWICK Posted August 4, 2021 #22 Share Posted August 4, 2021 Yes - please post if anyone finds out if we can cancel or reschedule w/no penalty. If masks are required, we are out. This is NO surprise at all but VERY disappointing and VERY aggravating, as we booked under a no mask policy. 😡😡😡 13 1
