What is one thing you wish Carnival did differently?

I wish they would keep recipes as is and have more consistency throughout the fleet in MDR. Sad that they have changed the stuffed portobello mushrooms to a red sauce vs the cream sauce that I used to love!

Miss the Indian restaurant that was on Magic several years ago. That was our favorite place to eat! I know you can get Indian in the MDR but it’s nowhere near the same.

Are you seeing varying Indian dishes in MDR?  Ive only seen the same Indian meal offering every night.  You would think they could vary it each night.  I would love Palak Paneer being an offered side dish.

I agree with the solo cabin options.  I do a solo every once in a while and it would be nice to have a dedicated rate.

I'd love to see a restructuring of Cheers so that you could purchase different amounts, or so many drinks cumulative per cruise.

Totally agree with that last part.  I would never come close to drinking enough to justify Cheers as it is.

I totally understand the req’t that all adults in a stateroom need to buy the Cheers, but we have a recovering alcoholic amongst our group.  So we “play around” with rooms and “officially” place that person in a room with another non-Cheers person even tho the recovering alcoholic actually sleeps in a room with a Cheers person.  I’m sure others have played this game, too.

If so I haven't figured out how.  I have $650 OBC for my next Carnival cruise and I haven't found anywhere that I can apply that in the cruise planner to any purchases.  I might have to go back and take a closer look. Would be nice if I could use it ahead of time to take advantage of some of the discounts available when booking ahead.

I hope someone chimes in with a solution.  I have $900 OBC and I don’t want to just waste it on nonsense.  I would LOVE to be able to pre-purchase WiFi pkgs for discounts.  I did have CCL credit my pre-paid tips so that I can use OBC for that.  We’re not Cheers folks (would never drink enough to justify that when we consider that we can bring 2 bottles of wine AND will be getting a free bottle with first night Steakhouse.  Wish I could have used OBC for the steakhouse purchase as well.

I think I can use some in the casino, but have heard that I can’t cash out?  What if I have winnings?  Do they have some system to track what the winnings are and that can be cashed out?

You can load some OBC to your players bank and play in the casino and cash out.  Some people were trying to get their OBC without doing that..  I've always used OBC in the casino and never had a problem cashing out.  Fun Play money has to be used up in it's entirety.  That's why they stopped handing out $100 bills as  casino cash.

Book the Steakhouse after you board and use the OBC for that too and individual drinks can be bought, if Cheers is not your thing.

I have $800 OBC on my next trip.  I could use it in a day!

We’ve already booked and paid for Steakhouse because we wanted a certain day and time.  I wish I could have used OBC.

I guess we’ll load some OBC to our players bank and then play.  Good to know that I can pull from OBC to load to casino players bank.

There used to be a real good INDIAN offering at the back of the ships, kinda where the SEAFOOD SHACK is now. The absolute best NAAN, butter chicken, and more....it was Fantastic.  The offering of Indian at the MDR, is the same it has been for years,....even the same name....Northern Indian assorted plate...the usual lentils, rice, etc. I have not seen this dish change in at least 5 years.

Modify the Cheers Beverage Package where everyone in the cabin does not have to buy the package. Makes no sense if one cabin member indulges in adult beverages and the other passenger does not!!

Carnival would lose so much money if they did that. Royal tried that and it didnt work too well. Too many people sharing. They went to the same policy as Carnival.

Sorry but not true. Rcl you have to call and one person can purchase their drink plan and the other the refreshment plan. Each has to purchase a plan but one doesnt have to be the one for alcoholic drinks ... not that the refreshment plan is that cheap. Includes mock tails and fresh squeezed OJ.

You have to call is all. .. cant do it online. Rcl does allow it.

Those guys are awesome!!!

The house bands on the cruises I have been on lately have been excellent, especially on the Pride and the Sunrise.  They find musicians from literally all over the world to put these bands together, and their repertoires are amazing!

Trust Carnival is making a nice margin on Drinks bought by passengers that are not buying the Cheers Packages. It just appears unfair to have tp purchase something that you are not going to use. There are many passengers that just drink the complementary fountain juices and water. I think the Industry really needs to rethink this issue.

I'm sure they have and it and works for their profits and business model.  As they say "life isn't fair, act accordingly."  😉

No one has to purchase the Cheers package.  You can do the math.  If your cabin mate drinks more than 10-12 drinks per day, you are still saving money by buying the Cheers.  If he/she doesn't, don't buy them.  It's a shame that they have to put those rules in place because people cheat, but that is the way the world is.

Offering a discount with strings attached doesn't rob anyone of anything. It is a benefit to folks who are willing to accept the strings. It's the same as "Buy one, get one free"  when I only need one.

As I stated above carnival is not the whole industry. Rcl allows just one in a cabin to purchase the pkg, the other a non alcoholic pkg. Lowest I've seen the refreshment pkg is $20 a day, so 140 for 7 days for non alcoholic drinks ..

Celebrity and ncl include drinks. Celebrity has gone to inclusive.

Carnival is not the whole industry. They all do it differently.

Certainly understood and thanks as always for the education. However Carnival is the Cruise Industry to me because they are my sole choice for our Cruising experience. So I would like to see them at least ponder a change!

Idk if they would want more drink pkgs. Personally mostly all I got on cheers was coffee. I would be happy with a coffee pkg. Rcl does soda, coffee and refreshment pkg plus the drink pkg. Oh and a water pkg. They offer quite a few. I dont drink plain water bottled or not. The refreshment pkg is everything but alcohol.

Carnival seems to be thinking about it as they offer soda by the oz on the new mardi gras. I think you will see more pay options on carnival going forward. Also suites on mardi gras get a free soda pkg.

That is your choice to pigeonhole yourself. Like Firefly said, everybody does it differently.

Trust me, if Carnival were to relax the rules, the price would go UP. There would be that much more cheating, that many more packages being limited out each day, etc. Monkey with any of the factors that determine the price and it goes up.

While I totally understand your wish, it’s just not viable.  You’d have one Cheers person ordering a drink, both drinking it, then the Cheers person ordering another.   But I agree it’s a probably if one doesn’t drink at all and the other can’t buy cheers as its’ too $$

If Carnival were to do something like that, they’d have to severely limit the total drinks/day to like 4 drinks, so that if drinks were shared, it wouldn’t hurt their bottom line.

After all, there’s a whole bunch of couples where drinking a grand total of 10 drinks/day is more than enough.  Maybe an option where a cabin can pre-buy 10 drinks/day and either adult can use them.
