A Canadian takes on a S2B2B on Oasis 1/2/22, Odyssey 1/9/22 & 1/15/22 (hopefully)

I forgot to post about our testing experience.  Our appt was at 8am on Saturday in the dining room.  It was very quick and we were in and out in 10 minutes.  It took longer to get our results than it had in the past.  Paul got his at 2:07 PM and I got mine at 3:34.  Both were negative (obviously).  We did not receive a print out but were told to go to guest services after 8pm if we needed one.  I just showed the PDF when I checked in at Odyssey today and it was fine.

I felt bad for some other guests that were getting tested.  There was a couple that were supposed to be getting on a B2B2B on Jewel today.  They were still getting tested because they were working on trying to get moved to another ship.  Hopefully it worked out for them. 
 

Currently sitting in the Solarium enjoying my first drink since Friday and looking at the other ships!

Some trivia information for you… Mitch is a Canadian, who’s hometown is London Ontario. 20 minutes from my home.
 

We had a good visit with him at the flowrider while his girlfriend at the time was getting a lesson with us. He was the CD on one of the Oasis Class ships at the time.

Yes I think I have spoken to him before.  I had been listening to the podcast he was doing with Mike (who we had as CD on Odyssey on Aug) during the shutdown. I was really enjoying it and not sure why they stopped.  If I speak to him I am

planning on asking

Hopefully you stay negative while on this next cruise. Did you bring any rapid tests with you and also did the ship ever mention they had cases onboard.

Mike Hunnerup? (spelt wrong for sure)  If it was him, he too is Canadian.  Might play into them doing a Podcast together.  He sat in front of us the the flight back to Toronto, when he was going on leave. He was either from Listowell or Mitchell if I remember. Both are friendly, might be the Canadian in them.😉

 

Glad you are feeling better and enjoying a drink today.  Thanks for the final BBQ pictures as too.

Yes we brought 10 rapid tests.  Hubby and I are going 2 on Thursday to make sure we are probably negative before the rest of our party flies on Friday.  Then the 5 of us are going to to take them on the 22nd while still onboard so if we pop a positive we are still protected by RCL.

I did not hear an announcement but decided to go see if the room was ready, and it was!  10560 which is a balcony oceanview right outside the forward elevator on deck 10 and a fantastic location. There is no one on one side. Hopefully we have better luck with sound than last time!

Playmakers on Odyssey definitely has a better view than Oasis! Waiting for the 4:25 Pats game - definitely busy up here! The Jaguars are playing now and Miami and Bucs play at 4:25.

Longtime lurker - your posts Jessy made me decide to Join!  
 

We are booked on our first ever S2S - Odyssey 1/23 then Symphony 1/29.  So your posts on the transfer, testing, and menu items are so helpful!  My partner is a bit of a hypochondriac so we are going to decide on second cruise based on how the Odyssey cruise goes.  
 

Any idea of the capacity Odyssey is running?  Our cruise in October on Oasis was great and only like 40% but I know capacity is kicking up which is really where our concern kicks in with everything going on (don’t really want to be body to body for pools, shows, etc).

 

Keep up the amazing posts!  Glad you’re okay - I started to get worried yesterday!

How many passengers are on this week's sailing?

Is the main pool heated? If not, how cold?
