We will definitely be back here again and again!  Note to self however - I will not order the 3 cuts again.  It is way too much food!  My favourite was definitely the burnt ends!

 

 

We both ordered the 3 Cut Signature combo.  Mine was burnt ends, smoked turkey and brisket. For sides I ordered Mac and Cheese and Baked Beans.

Yes!  I have no idea how I am supposed to eat at Chops tonight though.  There is no room left!

I have to say I do not recommend Boardwalk Balcony cabin 8695.  We picked it because of its closeness to the elevator and Central Park on Deck 8.  With that being said, there is a constant droning/humming sound like we are next to a piece of machinery.  I was going to complain about it on day 1 and see if we could be moved but when we went to guest services the lineup was nuts and I was not getting in it.  We did not have an issue sleeping on night 1 and at this point we are already unpacked so cannot be bothered to try to move.

 

Of more concern is how LOUD it is outside.  I am not sure if we are right beside a speaker outside, but anytime there is an announcement it is ridiculously loud even with the balcony closed.  We have booked Central Park Balconies in the past and never had an issue but decided to try a Boardwalk this time to try something different.  We will not be making this mistake again 🙂

Enjoying your review, we are on Odyssey in March and can't wait. Wish they had a Port Side BBQ on Odyssey, I would eat all my meals there, lol.

I think it has gone the way of the Dodo bird.  The menu on the app says the soup is now Creamy Butternut Squash soup.  😞

 

I am going to be a weirdo and not get steak at Chops. When we had the UDP on the Odyssey in August, I wanted to order the Organic Roasted Chicken but the waiter talked me out of it saying I would be waiting forever.  I am ordering it tonight no matter what they tell me lol

You just ate a pound of burnt ends.  Waiting for a roasted chicken to cook while you swill down a wedge salad isnt going to hurt you. 😉

Keep the updates coming.  As a fellow Canadian we love reading TR from others still willing to cruise.  We are planning on heading on our very first cruise on Jan 20 out of Baltimore.   As of right now we plan on still going.

We were assigned a Boardwalk balcony on the Oasis after booking a balcony guarantee many years ago and we found there was a significant amount of noise trickling in from outside every single night. They cancelled all aquatheatre shows the week we were on board and instead would show movies with the volume all the way up until 11:30 - midnight each night or alternatively there was some kind of cover rock band with a small but fervent fan base that would occupy the stage when they weren't showing the same four movies over and over again. It wore a little thin by the last few nights of the cruise. 

 

Between that and the conversations at normal volume that we could hear coming in from under the connecting door (they got multiple offers on their home that was on the market while they were on vacation!) we learnt a valuable lesson in booking guarantee cabins!

I will miss the mushroom soup but butternut squash would suffice.

I once watched a lady on Princess try to order a fish meal at the Sterling Steakhouse. The waiter pointed to the name on the door, specifically the word Steakhouse, and asked for confirmation.  She stuck to her guns.  I on the other hand enjoyed on 20oz bone in porterhouse.  Enjoy your chicken tonight. 🙂😋

We are on the cruise with you, and I can assure you that the speakers are LOUD everywhere. I don’t remember them ever being this loud. Deck 5 track is unbearable

Today as I was working all day I kept hearing what I thought was an iPhone alarm that kept going off.  Turns out it was the carousel stopping/starting endlessly for hours…

Dinner at Chops was very good.  I am not sure what the waiter we had on Odyssey was talking about, but the chicken was not that big, came out at a reasonable time and I have no idea why he was saying it would have taken forever.

 

Hubby was very disappointed that not only could we not get mushroom soup, but mushrooms was not an available side either!  The waiter said there was a mushroom shortage.  Who knew!!

 

 

I had the squash soup to start.  It was very good.  I would have preferred the mushroom, but it was a nice alternatice

 

 

Paul had the shrimp appetizer 

 

and we had the pepper bacon to share.  I still do not understand why they call it bacon, but it is yummy no matter what they call it…

 

We ordered mashed potatoes, creamed spinach and Gruyère gator tots as sides.  If they had mushrooms, we would have ordered it instead of tater tots

 

Paul had the porterhouse and he said it was excellent and cooked to a perfect medium rare

 

and I had the chicken.  It was very good!
