Anthem 1/9/22- LIVE!

Recommended Posts

We'll be boarding Anthem tomorrow AM for our 11 night Southern Caribbean sailing. I will try to keep up with doing a live review the best that I can. This will be our third time on Anthem.

As everyone knows, San Juan is a no go. As of now, we are supposed to go to St Maarten, St Kitts, Antigua, and Barbados. Things are bound to change so I'm expecting it to not go as planned. Totally fine with that, just happy to be on vacation and sailing again.

Just got word a few hours ago that there is an azipod issue and we will be boarding one hour later since Anthem will be getting back to NJ later than expected. I'm fine with that as long as we sail!!! The last few days have been so nervewracking wondering if our sailing would be impacted. I feel so sorry for all those whose sailings were canceled.

We had our covid tests at CVS on Friday and all four in our party are negative so we are good to go, thank god!! We were so nervous one of us would test positive... Anyway, we are so relieved! We are driving in tomorrow morning from CT, only about 1.5 hrs away. Hoping we can beat the ice storm coming to NJ, even if we get to port too early and have to wait it out in the car.

We are so excited! Feel free to follow along and ask any questions you may have!!

More the merrier. I'm also on this sailing and heading out at 10:30am to get to the pier by 12:30pm.

👏. Thank you for doing this live review.  We are booked on the 2/11 sailing and very excited to get back on board a ship.  We’ve only done one cruise since 2/2020 and that was on celebrity 9/2021.

We were on the Celebrity Summit 9/21 and going on the Anthem1/31/22. Thank you for the live review. Have a great cruise!

Am following this one and yours.  Everyone's experience is different and excited to hear both.

Still dreaming of our Anthem cruise.  Had her booked March 2020 and didn't get on that one, and recently had to cancel our Dec one.  We even her her booked twice this year - one as a backup if we cancel the next one.

Excited to follow along both of your reviews.  Have an amazing cruise, wherever she takes you.

Like you, I'm on the Allure January 22 sail and have trepidations as to cancelling or testing positive.  'I've done about 4 11 nighters and one on Quantum.  Always sad on a 7 nighter, when the weekend rolls around it tells me that it''s over.  But the 11 nights provides me with more enjoyment as there are more days of warmth and fun.😊

Have a safe and enjoyable cruise and looking forward to your reporting.

we are currently waiting to set sail! after a very, very long, cold wait to get in to check in, we are finally on board. we’ve unpacked, had a few drinks, and are waiting to leave!

We had reservations at Chops for 12:15, our boarding time was 11:30. We didn’t even step onto the ship until 2:15/2:30 due to the delay this morning of her returning and the big line outside. Once we got on the ship, Chops said they aren’t serving lunch today 🤔 Interesting. We paid and made these reservations months ago so I’m not sure what happened. Oh well, another day.

We have the 8pm seating for dinner in The Grande. I’ll be sure to take pictures of the menus each night. Hopefully we will be sailing soon. We are currently delayed for refueling and should be leaving at 6.

Thanks to both you and PiperHoliday for doing Live From threads.  Our last cruise pre-covid was April-May 2019 to Bermuda on Athem, and in 2016 did a 12-day cruise (that was a great length), also on Anthem.  Our cruises in 2020 and 2021 were both cancelled.  Right before Thanksgiving week, we started talking about cruising again (we do have three cruises booked for 2022) and at the last minute (ten days is very last minute for us) booked Anthem for Thanksgiving week.  It was great to be on a ship again -- unfortunately too windy to get much time on our balcony and we couldn't stop at Port Canaveral as planned (again too windy).  We no longer get off the ship in Nassau, but finally made it to Perfect Day at Coco Cay!  We went to all shows and sat in Two70º a lot, reading.  It was so relaxing!

Hoping the same for you!!

Woke up and its a bit warmer today! It’s pretty rough this morning, very rocky. Last night we had a great dinner in the MDR and then went to the casino & bar hopped. It was a great night.

I went to the fitness center for a quick workout and then we had breakfast in the Windjammer. I was interested in buying the workout class package but I was disappointed in the selection so decided against it! Here’s the class schedule:862002B8-7FCC-4038-BE22-3DFBBFC013F1.thumb.jpeg.bf420a1fc1d1d608c188f87e8a340276.jpegAF6D1BC8-A58A-47CD-91A3-EE84E06FD8B7.thumb.jpeg.54e8f3f52bad516038d59b6f058eeafb.jpeg

We didn’t know you needed reservations for the Windjammer, oops! They still let us in. When i tried to make them for the rest of the week there weren’t any available for breakfast before 11:30! So not sure what we’ll do about that but we’ll figure it out 😊

Don’t have any plan for the day! Need to go to guest services and find out how my on board credit shows up because I haven’t seen it yet. That’s all for now..
