“LIVE” from Enchantment of the Seas – March 05, 2022 (12Nts)

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone and good morning. Welcome to DAY 12 of "LIVE" from Enchantment of the Seas. Well, here we are . . . on the final day at sea for this Cruise.

Tomorrow we should be pulling up to the pier slowly at Cruise Maryland by around 7:00 a.m. Today is the day where everyone hustles and bustles to do things that they must do before debarkation tomorrow morning. Changing out bills for tips, viewing their room charges, cashing out Casino Royale slips, and yeah I almost forgot packing. I may try to get to the "Secrets to a Flatter Stomach" seminar later this morning. I could use some tips.

I heard that there were a handful of passengers who are doing a B2B on Enchantment of the Seas and will be sailing for the next eight nights.

The forecast for today suggests sunny skies this afternoon and the temps should be approaching 68° f. The seas may be a little rougher this afternoon as we approach the Outer Banks of NC. This movement will slow down considerably after we pick up the pilot at the Cape Henry pilot station, east of Virginia Beach.

There are still many activities for passengers today including game shows, trivia, live music, auctions, and the Can't Stop the Rock production show will be  tonight at 7pm in the Orpheum Theater.

Thanks for tuning in. . .

Not surprised that some people are saying onboard for the next sailing.  Before Covid, when we sailed on Grandeur's 12 day itinerary out of Baltimore, we met several people who stay on the ship the entire winter.  They said it's less expensive than renting a place in Florida.

Well I never thought about that. . .

Hmmm, sounds like a plan for several years down the line. I can think of many worse ways to spend the winter.

Thank you as always for your review. Now it’s my turn to get on tomorrow for 16 nights. Weather not looking good - rain, guess it could be worse - snow. Have a 1 1/2 drive.

16 nights? Wow, that's impressive. . .

Thanks for the next comments.⛱️

Hello everyone and good day. We are getting very close to land. I can see Virginia Beach and  will be seeing Norfolk, Virginia shortly. The Seas are very calm. It seems like we are sailing in a pond or  lake.

The pilot will be picked up at Cape Henry, and we will then pass over the tunnel section of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel.

We will spend several hours sailing up the Chesapeake Bay toward our home port of Cruise Maryland. We should be passing under the Chesapeake Bay Bridge around 5:00 a.m. and we are scheduled to pass under the Key Bridge around 6:30.

I had a wonderful Cruise, and I am happy I was able to  do a 12 night sailing. I usually can only swing a seven night sailing, and a couple times I was able to do a B2B sailing.

Enchantment of the Seas has a great crew. It is easy to tell that there are many new crew members, and I expect there to be new crew members until this ship and others get to 100% capacity sailings.
The ship this week was sailing at approximately 60% capacity and you could really tell. It was nice not having crowds everywhere.

Most everything went very well. (Except for Casino Royale) but overall, I was very pleased with most everything about the cruise.

I will be posting details about the debarkation process tomorrow morning. Until then, thanks for the nice comments and thanks for tuning in.

The ship offered a very nice Veterans Celebration event.

That is always the downside of sailing out of Baltimore.  Otherwise it is a great port/area to sail from.

Have you heard anything about a large container ship running aground in the Chesapeake near Baltimore ?

It's not blocking the channel so should have no problem. It has been there a couple of days now and the cargo traffic has been moving just fine.

The ship is a bit off the main channel, hence the problem,  So, ships passing have to do so one at a time rather than in two lanes.  Heard that as of this afternoon, they have had no luck moving it.  The EVER FORWARD (really?) is sitting off Pasadina, MD.  You'll have to get up nice an early if you want to get a look at it.
