LIVE..........Allure of the Seas...........May 14-----May 22, 2022................ "Just state the Facts Ma'am"

Recommended Posts

We had no problem getting all our preferred times, but we boarded at 11.  We booked Mama Mia for day 8 afternoon.  We have seen the first half many times, but plan the second half then.

By the way, this is the first sailing with the new cast performing Mama Mia.

It is 3:20, and 1200 guests haven’t done the safety drill.

So a strange thing happened on the way out of the cabin.  We passed an older couple walking in the passageway.  She was wearing a mask, but he wasn’t.  As we are almost to them, he grabs his nose and holds it!

What?  I know it is warm, but did our deodorant stop working already?  Nope, must be a way to avoid Covid exposure????

Does this method really work?   Maybe the doctor will weigh in on this.

That move is usually reserved for smokers.

Here is a little better picture of the QE2 in port, near the Caribbean Princess

Actually, we were looking at one of the Queens for a return trip to the US when we do our TA on Anthem next spring.  Not much difference in cost than the airfare.

A couple of years ago I was riding my bike down the main beach road. I think it was April and the beach was empty. As I'm riding I see this woman walking on the road toward me. As I'm about to pass by her on my bike she turns away from me and covers her nose and mouth with her hand. I couldn't figure that one out any better than the situation you just described.

Actually, she is just Queen Elizabeth, QE2 was retired from their fleet about 13 years ago.  WE actually docked right behind her in Malta, she was on her last revenue voyage. WE were on Navigator , and boy was she small compared to our ship.

Right you are.  Don’t know how that 2 got in there.  Maybe it was when my wife was asking how many drinks I had so far. 🤣

Following. My DH and I are doing this cruise in October and we are very excited about finally getting to Aruba and Curacao . For those of you who have been to Aruba or that are on this cruise, I am looking for a great spot within easy walking distance from the ship to watch the sunset in Aruba. I remember pictures that Twangster posted that were beyond amazing, but can't find that thread or remember where on the island he took them.

Thanks,

Virginia Lea

I like new updated cruise compass. Now I do not know if I got it because I’m old or because we’re in a suite.

This is the one and only time I will post this.
here they are but maybe out of sequence. 532BE8D9-CBAB-48A7-94D2-0ABC3E9C8B42.thumb.jpeg.1d2d418dd2a02798363e5b98b0a329cc.jpegD9C7D886-213A-4EAF-B24A-996253A7FBAD.thumb.jpeg.0e76de196d0a7bd12680b37c80e196d5.jpeg897B695E-10ED-4B4E-9083-079DCD04EEAF.thumb.jpeg.fcf7b05c5e48a0077ed74cf7da62dff1.jpeg4070E4E3-46EA-4692-95C3-52DF365FFEE1.thumb.jpeg.1de3c98dc202daad0277ae6111221160.jpeg532BE8D9-CBAB-48A7-94D2-0ABC3E9C8B42.thumb.jpeg.1d2d418dd2a02798363e5b98b0a329cc.jpeg532BE8D9-CBAB-48A7-94D2-0ABC3E9C8B42.thumb.jpeg.1d2d418dd2a02798363e5b98b0a329cc.jpeg532BE8D9-CBAB-48A7-94D2-0ABC3E9C8B42.thumb.jpeg.1d2d418dd2a02798363e5b98b0a329cc.jpeg532BE8D9-CBAB-48A7-94D2-0ABC3E9C8B42.thumb.jpeg.1d2d418dd2a02798363e5b98b0a329cc.jpeg4070E4E3-46EA-4692-95C3-52DF365FFEE1.thumb.jpeg.1de3c98dc202daad0277ae6111221160.jpegCFF54E0B-0534-49F0-A4DE-B82B60B7B765.thumb.jpeg.ea1f56519d40a1dc889e302a2180e489.jpeg

We were booking our shows by 11:30am. And we could not get Mama Mia. ?????????

So we are going to ask the concierge what that is about. Unless they do not take reservations. But they keep telling you on the APP. To make your reservations.

When we were booking all of the shows, for some reason the young man helping us  said we could only get the afternoon show (last show on this cruise).  So, we waited until the last show, the only one in the afternoon.  We got there, they didn't need to see our reservation;  they weren't looking at anyone's reservations, anyone and everyone was welcome to attend this showing.  We would've preferred to see the play (which is awesome, btw!) at one of the evening shows.  Perhaps we could have, if we just showed up??

I think that was record time. Although I was highly upset that they didn’t open the doors to cabins til 1:01, when the sign said 1:00.

Walked to our cabin, and our as yet undamaged new blue suitcases were already there.

By 1:33, both cases unpacked and everything in its place.  Of course, it helps when you pack everything on hangers.

We had a little mix up.  DW handles ours and friends bookings.   When she printed our luggage tags she printed out their room number.   😆 Lucky they were only two doors down!

We must not be old.  No cruise compass for us.  Just the show schedule and info for the DL.

Top tier event is tomorrow.  We have a Next cruise appointment in the morning to book one or three more cruises.  Depends on how much I get carried away.

Dinner in the MDR tonight.  They are seating you with others.  There were four at our six top, with two no shows.

Escargot

The only venue that checked my reservations all week was the adult Comedy Club.

Prime Rib looks great. How did it taste? Can’t ever go wrong with escargot.

Looks like that prime rib was cooked with a match. Sure didn't have that on the heat long.

Done just right.  Med rare.  One of our table mates had the jerk pork chop, which he said was very good.  May have to try that the night they repeat this menu.
