Not worth it to us as we drink very little. Almost $1500.00 extra for a 16 day cruise?  Sorry I will let others feed the beast.

That is for premier--I agree it is not cost effective for most.

Plus is only $800 extra pp.

$400 covers tips & internet (tho you could cut a bit by sharing internet)

So that leaves $400--or $25/day for drinks. Even a couple drinks/day covers that.

For most that is a no brainer if you drink at all--even coffees, sodas, etc.

Princess needs to re-think the number of specialty dinners from 2 per booking - and somehow adjust it to number of formal nights on 7+ day cruises - ex 10 day has 3 formal nights, 14 has 4, etc to make the SD a worthwhile 'benefit' on the Premier package

That is what stands out to me as well. They could have made it as you say, tied to the number of formal nights or just said one specialty dining booking for every 5 days on the cruise etc. This reminds me of how silly the coffee package has become for some of us with 15 specialty drinks no matter whether it is a 3 day or 30 day cruise. This was reasonable when you could finish using punches on your next cruise but that is gone with it being tied to the medallion now.

Hello everyone.

Tried to research this a bit....... I see new Plus Drink Package and Premium now offered.

We booked our cruise some time ago and received the 'Premium' drink package.

My question is if this is the 'new' Premium package or something else?  I believe that drinks limits were 12 dollars on our package when booked but the name Premium remains the same.

Anyway seems like another Princess confusion barrage. Hoping our 'Premium' is the same as the new

'Premium'. Any education on this would be helpful (sadly CC boards seem best source for info on this).

Many thanks in advance.

I have three cruises booked with the previously named "Premiere Drink Package" using Princess Plus booking.  All of these cruises now show that I have the "Plus Drink Package" rather than the Premiere Drink Package.

Thank you! Obviously did not frame this post accurately. We booked with Premier (must of had my recent premium gas purchase in mind since I took a loan out for it).  The initial  booking calls out for a 13 dollar limit. My booking now shows the Plus Package with 12 dollar limit. My only complaint then is the one dollar diff.  Doubt there are many drinks that skirt this and my understanding is that you can pay the difference in higher priced drinks.

The former "all-inclusive" drink package was badged "Premier".  Princess introduced the Plus Cruise Fare package and included the "Premier" drink package as part of it.  Now they decided to introduce a new "higher" Cruise Fare package and called it Premier.  As part of that package, they developed a new higher-level drink package and called it "Premier" to align with the new Cruise Fare package.

Therefore, the original "Premier" drink package was re-badged to be the Plus Drink Package.  So, now the drink package name aligns with the associated Cruise Fare Package that includes it.

You are getting the drink package you booked under - in terms of content.  It just has a new name.

I have never seen where the Plus Drink Package covered drinks to $13.  It has been $12 for some time AFAIK.

There has never been a $13 limit. You have never booked in the past with the new package. The verbiage on your travel summary makes no difference

Summer on Savings/Princess Plus: rates based on a discount off applicable Launch Fares on a space-available basis at time of booking on select categories and sailings. Launch Fares are offering fares and may not have been in effect for the past 90 days or resulted in actual sales in all categories. Intermediate discounts may have been taken and fares may remain at discounted levels after this promotion. Some exclusions may apply. Beverage Package (ages 21+) not applicable during land portion of cruisetours. Includes beer, spirits, wine by the glass and cocktails under USD 13.

Well maybe there was a 13 dollar limit- cruise summary is quoted above. Also my TA confirmation still calls out Premier package.

Verbiage on travel summary makes no difference?????

Verbiage makes no difference they have called it a premier drink package for years now there will be different levels which never existed before

So what exactly do you mean... the verbiage means nothing?  You seem certain as to what the

package includes..... do you have an inside track? Can you speak for Princess?

I am just trying to figure out ***** the package that I purchased and was confirmed represents.

If you purchased the Princess Plus package, which was the only package available prior to May 25 then the drink portion is up to 15 alcoholic drinks a day on drinks up to $12 also all fountain sodas, coffee drinks and small bottles of water. This is for US sailings. Australian or European sailings May be different

OK, in the future I will check with you as you apparently in a unique position to clarify things. Thanks.

Drink prices will go up....it’s a matter of when and how much? If $1-$2 increase over $12...keep the Plus & pay the difference...if $5-$6 over $12.....I will rethink to Premier

If they go up that much, I'll consider not drinking 😛

Just looked at some of the wines on the current bar menus. I’ll be shocked if there are not price increases putting those we would prefer over the $12 limit. As we don’t care for any of the other offerings in the Premium package, I’m hoping paying the difference per glass works in our favor.

There are very few red wines by the glass that taste decent to us.  We generally stick to whites unless we want a red for a particular menu and if so we will get a bottle with the 25% discount.

We could be satisfied with Decoy Merlot and Rodney Strong Cab, but they are both currently at the top end.

Those were not $12 or under in bars on my last cruise   And I am not probably going to jump to the new tier since I don’t by pictures and can pay for a specialty dinner once or twice a cruise   I also haven’t even taken a photo much less bought any in my last 25 or 30 cruises

We’ve been on several Celebrity cruises in the past few months and have been very happy with their food and beverage offerings. We do always upgrade to their Premium beverage package. We have some

significant FCC to use up on Princess, but Celebrity is winning us over.

I sincerely doubt prices would go up 40-50 %

This is where I am at as well. During the afternoons I will be happy with a few glasses of Rose or Albariño or Riesling or umbrella cocktails which I am sure will be within the Plus limit. At dinner I will very likely end up ordering wines that carry an extra charge but the volume of my consumption probably won’t justify leveling up to the more expensive package. And this assumes that I don’t sail out of a U.S. port. When I sail from the U.S. I will continue to travel with wine from my cellar and skip all of the packages.

We’ve just spotted on our booking booked some time ago that we’ve now been downgraded to the plus package when it clearly stated on our original booking that we had the premier package. Our final payment date is 26 June so seemingly around when any changes might be known onboard so too late for us to know before paying for our $13,000 cruise. This is a 25 night cruise on Sky Princess in September. We will be speaking to our Princess cruise specialist on Monday to say that unless the premier package is reinstated on our booking, we will be cancelling. Whether this works or not, we won’t be booking a Princess cruise ever again. The product has diminished too much since the pandemic and, whilst we know they have to recoup their money, we feel they are going too far. Best internet at sea? Not according to our last cruise it isn’t. Although I now see they are advertising it as best Wi-Fi at sea 🙄 What next, you have to pay for your bed linen to be changed?
