I'm going to guess you're not alone there. I think the new menus are trial balloons as much as anything else.

Yeah, I really doubt the lack of the "classics" menu will stick around along. I'm sure the kitchen is getting a ton of special requests and the surveys are going to be pretty poor. I remember when Quantum first came out there were no kids menus and IIRC no classic items. The lack of kid's menu was fixed on the first sailing and I think the Classic menu was added within a month.

So, the steak, macaroni dish and the salmon will no longer be available as standard, that would sucks.  Paxs complain the present menu is limited, now if the above listed entrees are confirmed then it's even more limited.

last cruise on Radiance I often ordered the salmon or  steak.  Not a pasta fan .  The classics were more to my liking. No variety in salads.  Sorry to see no savory bites in the bread basket - ho hum dinner rolls instead.  Shortage of staff is the cause of too long dinner time not too many choices.

Awesome, thanks so much! Very excited. Taking a first time cruiser so hoping there is enough variety.

Who needs variety if all we want every night is Onion Soup, Shrimp Cocktail, and well done Strip Seak😉

Savory Bites have been gone for ages

Spaghetti Bolognese is on the kids menu so it will still be available every night.

Not exactly... the kids menu has Spaghetti Marinara, not the Spaghetti Bolognese.  So just a tomato sauce, not a tomato based meat sauce.

Love the food porn thanks. Menu seems too small and limited.

I love the food porn, too.

The two menus @garrymorere posted look wonderful to me!

But is this Symphony, or another ship?

Night 3. I gotta say the shrimp pasta was very good, I think that’s new. Also had the chocolate custard, sorry photo came out super blurry, nothing special but nothing terrible either.

We cruise 5 a year. Last years most of the time with Royal. This year all 5 times. Even though I know menus by heart, I was completely fine with it. This change isn’t good by any means (we’ll survive), but I’ve heard another change was that you  can order only one thing from every course.
I wonder if this is true?

Long time ago we dropped desserts. Lately I dropped main entree on most night. However I usually ordered 2-3 appetizers. Escargots, some seafood appetizer and maybe a soup. Now choices  are less and only 1 choice per section?

I got the savory bites every night except the first on my last 3 cruises.  You just have to ask the head Waiter.  Also, as a matter of fact. my granddaughter loved the pretzel rolls in Chop's and the head waiter was very accommodation and got them for her.  Don't know going forward with all of these changes.

I am not a fan of Indian food, though DH is. I usually would get the salmon off of the classic menu several nights. Since the restart I have been very disappointed in MDR choices. I think the goal is to push passengers toward specialty dining.

Maybe it's because I haven't been on Royal since 2018, but these new menus don't look so bad to me.  I pretty much never order from the classic menu, so I won't miss that.  I do like Indian food, but I don't eat meat, so I am hoping that something non-lamb shows up.  I am looking forward to seeing the rest of the menus.  We are on Symphony on 12/17 and have a 3 night dining package, so I likely wouldn't be in the MDR too much anyway, but I did want to try it at least once or twice.  Hopefully, the app will show the new menus soon as it would be nice to figure out what nights I might actually want to try the MDR.

Gary are you on now?  If so, can you post on lobster night? If it really is Maine lobster tail and they are larger than the charge for a second tail makes sense. So I’m curious as to how that will really be. I will be on symphony next week!

Also what was the beef dish you got on the second night? That looks good! Keep her warm for me I will be on Saturday

The Indian dishes seem cheap and lazy to me. I actually love Indian so I don’t mind that they’re serving it, but every night? The ship is sailing out of the US and Indian is not huge here. I mean we have plenty of restaurants, but it’s just not a staple. I know they serve it every night for the crew so it seems like they are crossing over maybe?

They are making the Indian dishes anyway... there has always been a "secret" Indian Vegetarian and Indian Meat menu available.  The Indian Meat menu is already on the menu for the sailings that serve the UK market.  I ordered it a lot on Wonder this past summer, actually.
