I see the double Q class in China as a test to judge the ability to support a larger ship there.

Double Q class already happened in pre-covid times. In 2019 there were Spectrum in Shanghai, Quantum in Tianjin, and Voyager in Hong Kong.

Yes but a lot has happened since 2019.  The booking trends and economy of China are wildly different post-pandemic compared to five years ago.  Cruising came back very quickly in the US and Europe markets, less so in APAC markets.

I’m surprised they have 2 ship let alone one in china.

Other than the real estate woes the overall economy isn't terrible.  Japan went through something similar.  The US has and will go through it again.  My investment firm has a more positive stance on China compared to some opinions expressed on these boards.

Ovation will be in Singapore after the Beijing season.

10 year dry dock due April 2026.

It doesn’t sound like a very consistent development for Singapore. Maybe Voyager might spend some time there.

Probably and Anthem not going to Asia at all....

Do you have confirmation of Anthem not going?  She has almost full ships 4/13/25 Singapore to Tokyo and Toyko to Seattle.  Or is this just your speculation?

Look for possible Alaska ship changes in 2026:

"

The Seward Company recently released plans to design and build a new cruise terminal and pier at the Port of Seward in Alaska.

According to the company’s website, design and construction for the new facility is scheduled to start immediately, with completion expected by Spring 2026.

The Seward Company is working with the Royal Caribbean Group and Turnagain Marine on the public-private project, which aims to develop a new world-class cruise port in Seward.

Designed to welcome the largest ships currently cruising in the region, the new facility will replace the current Alaska Railroad cruise port facility, the Seward Company said.

According to the Alaska-based real estate development group, the 1965-built pier is now outdated and does not meet today’s cruise industry operational or safety standards.

A 2023 study showed that the port is on borrowed time, the Seward Company added, with its supporting piles degrading from unsafe towards complete structural failure.

The centerpiece of the project is a state-of-the-art floating double berth pier that measures 100 feet wide and 748 feet long, the development company added, noting that the facility will feature a portable shore-power system.

The pier will be able to operate with two ships docked simultaneously and was designed to host Royal Caribbean’s Quantum Class.

The facility will also be equipped with a 200-foot-long split transfer span, ensuring safe and efficient embarkation and disembarkation of cruise visitors and provisioning vehicles.

Additionally, there will be a 41,500-square-foot cruise terminal providing indoor shelter for passengers and crew.

Designed for year-round functionality, the cruise terminal will be transformed into storage and community event space when not being used by cruise ships during winter months.

The new facility secures future economic impacts for the Seward community and the state of Alaska, the company said, while also assuring the long-term sustainability of the Alaska Railroad."

Great news. Looks like preparation for Quantum-class taking over the one-way Vancouver/Seward routes. Which are the best ones, in my opinion….  The train ride straight from the port to ANC is a convenient feature.  Glad they’re incorporating it in the new facility.

Thanks for sharing.  Good to see investment in the port.
We might need to do the one way Alaska cruise again while there is still Radiance class doing the itinerary.

Any idea where the Spectrum is headed?  Her last sailing is showing as:  4 nights from January 28, 2025 - I believe Hong Kong?

I'm seeing Spectrum on the website now right through to April 2026 sailing from Shanghai.

Yes I think so. They were due to be released this week but new releases have generally been overnight Tuesday to Wednesday so looks like they've done it a day early this time. Hope you get what you want. ☺️🤞

thanks for sharing.

I went to check out the new Asia release, was waiting for it.

- Spectrum will be in Shanghai till Apr 2026. No sailing in Dec 2025 maybe dry dock due to cold weather?

- Ovation will be in Tianjin from Apr to Oct 2025... so I guess it will come to Singapore after that.

Nothing for me to book, was keen to get something in Dec 2025 from china-japan. Disappointed, will check other cruise lines🙁

I was looking at Easter 2026 and there is nothing for Spectrum out of Shanghai between April 2nd and the 18th April but she has two Shanghai sailings afterwards.

I notice that  itineraries haven't been released for Hong Kong or Beijing yet so do you think it might be a possibility that she may change departure ports during these dates.

China departures are all new to me 😳😀
