Icon was never going to be sailing from Southampton. It would only have been a show off event for the trade and media before she left for the USA.  Here’s what we’ve just built … but we’re outta here!

Pointing back to what are Royal going to do with the UK market. We went on Anthem last month for 14 days at the start of the holidays. It was good but not great, some of the people and the behaviour led a lot to be desired and it did spoil things for a lot of people and we went with children so knew what to expect a little. It was full and then some and we really didn't like having people knock on the door almost ever night and worse, never happened before on this sailing it seemed to be the norm, anyway moving on!

But interestingly we have had a survey asking more detailed questions about the ship, what sort of holiday we were looking at and more detail on the good and bad and lots more space to provide opinion. Looks like they are shaping what they want to do with the market in some way. What comes out of it is another matter entirely.

I was on Anthem for a 14-night Mediterranean Cities cruise back in June and also received this survey recently. As you say, lots of questions were opinion based and it appeared to me that they were trying to see what exactly UK guests want from the company and if they would be willing to travel for the ‘latest and greatest’ ships. I hope people give their honest opinions and Royal take note of this.

As mentioned previously, it is expected that Allure will sail the 7-day Med itinerary in 2025, as a result of her dry dock. Today, I noticed that Royal have posted a ‘2024 Fleet Guide’ and the key for ‘amped’ ships is a small star emblem. Surprisingly, Allure has this star next to it. Either this is a mistake or possibly our first ‘official’ hint that an amplification is coming as part of her 2025 drydock.

Ponta Delgada, Azores - Port Bookings (Correct as of 11/09/23)

A new call has been added for Odyssey OTS, likely for her eastbound TA. The origin is marked as Cape Liberty, so this will probably be her 1st port of call, before continuing onto Cadiz. Also, Independence OTS has an additional call in October, probably for her westbound TA to Ft Lauderdale.

27th April 2025 - Jewel OTS

4th May 2025 - Odyssey OTS.  *NEW*

Pretty sure that there will be an announcement next week about the Icon may 2025 through April 2026 being open to book.

When will the full summer ‘25 schedule be out.   Interested in Symphony sailing from Bayonne.

There’s a star beside Explorer. If that’s amped they’ve set the bar very low.

I don't disagree with you there as she has no Playmakers or restaurant on the pool deck otherwise she has everything else technically.

They appeared to do a proper job on Navigator. Explorer got a water slide and very little else. IMO RC would be better served calling it correctly as they could undersell amplification’ to potential customers.

I actually feel that the improvements to Explorer only detracted from it. First we removed the kids splash area, then we allegedly amped it but no Playmakers and they have done nothing to upgrade or update the suite lounge that is in a hole in the wall on deck 9 with no windows.

As I replied in the Allure Amplification thread, I'm currently on Allure and did the Star Class bridge tour today and our Genie and the other guy doing the tour both said that Allure will get her amplification in 2025.
