So, this is a bit different….Due to an azipod that needed repair, ms Nieuw Amsterdam arrived on Saturday, so this will be a sailaway only.

ms Nieuw Amsterdam is at pier 19, departing at 8:00 am, and she is leaving on an altered itinerary, now a 5 day Caribbean.

The PTZtv webcam can be found at https://www.portevergladeswebcam.com/.

Next up:  Nieuw Amsterdam and Eurodam on Saturday, October 28, 2023.

One of the pax on board reported the captain said 8:30 am tomorrow, so maybe adjusted by the morning. I'll still plan for the top of the hour anyway,

I hope when PTZ says the webcam on the Pier 66 hotel will be back online in 2024 they don't mean December 2024!  I miss that view!

So nice to see this unusual morning departure and hear so many nice long toots!

I also miss that view.

I've been wondering about that view.  I watched Rotterdam go out yesterday and would've appreciated that view for the basin turn.

I was on that sailing of the Nieuw Statendam in April 2022.  Not only did they replace the seal, but it didn't hold and they had to do it again.  We left a day late on a cruise that had already been been shortened by two days due to scheduled maintenance on the azipod.

I have such memories of Nieuw Amsterdam. I will sail on her sister ship in 2025.

My favorite HAL ship, unfortunately we had a pretty lousy cruise on her last December with bad food and entertainment.
