On Radiance ... all ports cancelled due to issues with propulsion system

Regardless of what's going on today, she's going to need to be moved sometime today/tonight.  Tomorrow is a 3 ship turn-around day in Vancouver.

As cruisingrob21 predicted, Radiance just vacated the cruise terminal. She was heading back upriver, perhaps to the same industrial dock we were at on Saturday.

Bow thrusters and the one good azipod all appeared to be working as normal. The only time I saw the tug lines taught was as they were swinging the stern around to point upstream.

Fingers continue to be crossed for a successful fix this week.

@STEVE-O would you mind sharing the text of the email?

I just noticed that Radiance is still moored in Vancouver, it's got to get steaming soon if it's going to make it to Seward on Friday.  Seems it will take a solid 2.5 days at 25 knots.

Hoping for the best

The cruise on Friday is a northbound from Vancouver to Seward. Apart from the email last night that we are good to go, we had two emails with check in/ boarding information.

Wonder if this latest fix will at least get then to their next port of call?

Looks like they are taking Radiance out for a test drive to see if the duct tape and zip ties worked. Ship pulled out past our hotel in Vancouver about an hour ago.

Fingers crossed the sea trial is successful.

Was out for a walk today to New Brighton Park this afternoon around 3pm (before the above test run pics) and took a pic of Radiance docked across Burrard Inlet at Lynn Term.  Was kind of cool to see a cruise ship docked on this part of the inlet.  (There was also another cruise ship there about a month ago that they were prepping to use as a floating hotel for workers for an LNG project in Squamish, north of Vancouver.)

Woohoo! Looks like the duct tape and zip ties held. Radiance is backing in to the east berth at Canada Place cruise terminal.

This morning on my way to work I thought I check on her on the shiptracker to see if she's already in Vancouver (didn't know exactly when she would start her Alaska season) and noticed the little loop she did earlier today, which looks like a test run.

That's what then brought me here 🙂

Boarding her on June 21 in Seward. Hopefully, she is fine now for the remainder of the season!

Just curious, which sailings had been cancelled because of this issue?

The one that was to end today. The one before that had ports cancelled.
